An animated special, adapted from Clement Moore's poem, "A Visit from St. Nicholas," follows the efforts of the citizens of Junctionville to discover who wrote an unsigned letter to the editor of the local paper denouncing Santa Claus as a myth, and, right the wrong so Santa Claus will pay his yearly visit to the children of Junctionville.
