This is my first experience at reading posted editorial comments by viewers of this show (48 Hours). I happened to choose this Melanie McGuire Episode, as having watched it twice myself. It so reminded me of the Scott Peterson trial (found guilty of murdering his pregnant wife, Staci), and how the media cannot do justice to the amount of evidence that is presented by prosecution at trial, that is released at trial, and afterward. No matter how many times Scott Peterson, or his mother, try to batt their eyelashes at the camera or pay their attorney for another appeal, the evidence speaks for itself.

Melanie was so clearly a sociopath in watching her fake emotional attempts, but how interesting to read some of these reviews. The media has to stop trying to comparmentalize and condensing these trials into such small time-frame formats, but I applaud their airing her weak attempt at batting her eyelashes at the camera, for the evidence speaks for itself from her trial.

Viewers of any of these televised, short-format shows, might want to consider investigating the information released after trial, if they cannot invest the time during trial.

Always interesting! Better than half the crime-based shows on TV now. Most of them borrow from real life anyway...and THAT is boring.

The stories they choose are always touching, sometimes gruesome and sometimes depressing, but worth the ride. It's the new expanded.
