A six-hour, three-part documentary on the changing role and image of women in U.S. history in the 20th Century. Makes use of voiceover narrative, archival footage, historic photographs, and on-camera interviews with women who have played important roles in the 20th Century. Also includes a fictional drama in which a five-generational family and their friends gather to celebrate a new baby, reminiscing and thereby connecting the themes of the documentary.
