As everyone gathers at the hospital on the day of Spike's cochlear implant surgery, Kendall and Ryan are moved by the support of their families. However, Kendall struggles to keep it together without Zach at her side. Later, Joe informs everyone that Spike made it through the surgery with flying colors. But Joe does caution them that they'll have to wait to see if the implant is a success.
As Tad and Krystal argue about Adam, Tad stands firm on his decision to keep Adam completely out of Jenny's life. Then, Krystal is shocked and infuriated when Tad presents her with papers suing her for full custody of Jenny. At the same time, a hurt Erica realizes that she and Jack are drifting further apart.
Adam tells JR that he's arranged to get him released on bail... if JR moves back into the mansion under house arrest. Without hesitation, JR rejects the offer. A furious Adam leaves JR in jail and returns home, where he finds Amanda waiting for him. Relishing her power over Adam, Amanda says she'll give JR an airtight alibi for the night of the accident, in exchange for one million dollars. Meanwhile, Jonathan confronts Ava about visiting JR in jail. In order to avoid an argument, they let the matter drop.
