Puuleeesee!
January 17, 2007
I love the show once the auditions are over and usually like some of the auditions however...last night was ridiculous. Is this entertainment at the "singers?" expense? Do they really need to let them keep going as they embarrass themselves in front of millions of viewers. I even felt bad for guest judge Jewel. She was obviously appalled at the laughing and giggling from the other judges as the person auditioning went on and on. I got the feeling that she wanted to just slide under the table and wished she had never agreed to be a part of what Simon now seems to think is "entertainment." Simon's comment was "I don't even know why I am a part of this show anymore." Does he want us to believe that he has no say in who they parade in front of him? Is this show promoting the idea that it is okay to degrade people who think they may actually have talent even when it is obvious that they don't?

Enough is Enough
January 18, 2007
Some awesome talent has come out of this show, no doubt about that. But the first 2 nights of season 6 broke my heart, to the point that I will not be watching the rest of this season. Enough of humiliating these kids. Before they even get to Paula, Randy and Simon they have been through 2 or 3 auditions and despite the fact that they are awful singers and/or have physical and/or mental abnormalities they are sent on to make spectacles of themselves. How dare these 3 judges sit there and laugh, name call ("you look like a monkey with those big, bulging eyes) and disrespect these kids. Who the hell do the 3 of them think they are? This is no longer good television, this show has become a circus at the expense of gullible, naive human beings. I guess anything goes if it gets ratings and the almightly $$$$$. Shame on the producers, directors, Fox network and the 3 judges. They are all a great dissapointment. I don't know how they sleep at night. Stop the humiliation before it ends in a tragedy.

Seriously people!
January 18, 2007
Why are all of you thinking that the auditioner is a victim? They are the ones who think that they ARE the next American Idol! If you notice - all the bad ones say that. They put it out there because they choose to. No one is holding a gun to their heads. I undersatnd heart strings being sympathetic, but even the disabled should have SOMEOME tell them they should go on in life and not have unrealistic dreams. I am more upset at their families who are standing in the hall supporting them than anything. They should be the ones who you count on for honesty, not strangers, being watched by millions. Stop the sob stories.
Also - Paula drunk? You sit there all day and listen to God awful singers and Simon bashing people personally. Maybe she finds it as unbelievable as I do. CHEERS (if thats whats up Paula)
It's a Freak show and we have all chosen to take front row seats. Turn on PBS if you cant take it!

Simon, you made my son cry
January 18, 2007
Last year was the first year we had ever seen American Idol...my 10 year old son and I were looking forward to this year. Last nights show was unbelievably crude! It was my sons bedtime and I went to tuck him in, there he sat with silent tears streaming down his little cheeks saying I hate Simon, if he was here I would punch him for what he said to that boy! I knew where he was coming from, I felt the same way for what was said! Shame on all of you who have anything to do with the show for being so rude and indecent! Those young men did not walk in there with anything but a dream to sing a song for them, they were not arrogant or disrespectful in any way! While I agree they were not American Idol singers they were certainly not deserving to be attacked on their physical appearance!!! I hope that these boys were not scarred for life for what was said about them on national television, if anything happens to them may the show be held responsible.
Please understand I am all for critiquing the musical talent on the show...even finding humor in the way contestants choose to dress. But all the judges have crossed the line in acting like 5 year olds. I believe that you have lost quite a few viewers in the past two evenings. Please get back to what the show is about and have all three of your judges get off their soap boxes and act like professionals!
sincerely, annemarie

Fox needs to change direction with AI
January 18, 2007
My kids and I have watched AI since it first came on and we do enjoy seeing up and coming talent I have to admit though after seeing this first show of 2007 I was dissappointed. I almost started crying for those 2 that the judges laughed at and mad fun of. They both were sincere in their attempt to get up there and perform. I have worked with people with different dissabilities over the years and lets face it...we all have some type of disability. Whether it be emotional or physical. To make fun of people is going way to far. I will not be watching again until FOX cleans up their act or gets some new judges pronto.
