New appetite for the weird
August 13, 2009
I wasn't aware of this show until a few months ago. I guess I got tired of the reruns. Anyways, I started watching just for the entertainment purposes. All the traditional meals I grew up with not liking because I was afraid to eat suddenly became appealing: Cows tongue, intestines, brains, tripe. I went back to the old mom and pop restaurants trying to find these foods and was surprised to find these hole-in-the-wall places had all the delicacies right in my own backyard. I have been eating all my childhood fear-foods with a whole new set of eyes (I mean taste). My next challenge would be insects. Anyone know where I could get a plate of ants, grasshoppers or grubs in So. California?

Asia - Durian
March 16, 2009
The Durian fruit is also found in Mindanao and only in that island of the Philippines. The fruit was known to be only eaten by the sultan and only by the members rest of the royalty brood and siblings. Otherwise the heads will roll. This modern times, if one is to taste the fruit for the first time filipino or foreigner it is advisable that he should try first the durian icecream commercially produced in the Philippines. Else, if directly deal with the ripe fruit, should be done at a windy beach or aboard a moving ship. Personally, I love Durian which at a very far distance smell would remind me of the aromatics of a ripe scenting apple. However if I am at close to the fruit, I must eat the fruit within an hour otherwise my smell nerves would interpret the scent to be the odor of a liquified petroleum gas or butane gas which will really make me dizzy and sick.

Great Show - Stop Smacking
March 3, 2009
Great show but he needs to learn to chew with his mouth closed. I watch this with my teenage kids and they think his manners are more disgusting then the foods he eats. But, we still love the show and wont let Bizarre eating habits stop us from watching.

Addictive!
February 10, 2009
Andrew is so adorable how could you not trust his opinions about worms, ants, fried fat, and all those innards! He's fantastic to watch! I find it interesting that someone has a taste for liver, hearts, and other irony foods. He isn't just a freak show, he is respectful and honest about the foods, knows the history of the region he's visiting as well as why the locals eat what they do. It's amazing how he can eat the things he does and then compare it other strange stuff he likes. Where did Andrew come from? His is one of the very few TV shows I will watch. Check him out!
