Best TV and Movie Bloodsuckers

Ian Somerhalder
Dimension Films
Boone came and left the island way too quickly on "Lost" as far as we were concerned. So we're happy to have actor Ian Somerhalder (and his piercing blue eyes) back on TV, and we're even happier that he'll be back in "Vampire Diaries" playing Damon, an edgy bloodsucker with a hair-trigger temper. We haven't seen him in action yet, but we're sure Ian is about to join our illustrious list of favorite vampires. Funny, scary, sexy... it doesn't matter to us; we just love a man with fangs.

James Marsters in "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" This vampire was so smooth he turned his archenemy, "Buffy (the TV) Vampire Slayer," into his girlfriend. That doesn't suck.
Reggie Nalder in "Salem's Lot" Based on the classic tale by Stephen King and starring Lance Kerwin (that's "James at 15"...uh...16 to you), "Salem's Lot" is the BEST cheesy vampire movie ever! This neck-biter has glowing red eyes, greenish-gray skin, and fangs in the middle of the mouth, rather than off to the side. Nice twist.
Paul Reubens in "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" Paul Reubens' arrest for indecent exposure a year earlier just made Pee-wee's vampire all the more edgy.
George Hamilton in "Love at First Bite" Vampires can't go out in the daylight, right? So how come George Hamilton has a tan in "Love at First Bite"? Self-tanner perhaps?
Robert Pattinson in "Twilight" We might have gone after some bad boys in our high school days, but none of them were technically vampires (black eyeliner aside). So we'll stick with poets and guitar players, but we can see why Robert Pattinson is making all the teens bare their necks.
Chris Sarandon in "Fright Night" The very suave Chris Sarandon attempts to seduce a very naive teenage girl who has a really dorky boyfriend (Brreewwwster), all while Roddy McDowall is hunting him down. "Fright Night" is our favorite fang-in-cheek '80s comedy by far.
David Bowie in "The Hunger" Chris Sarandon's ex-wife, Susan, stars in this modern urban vampire tale. David Bowie plays a young clubbing vamp who suddenly gets tossed aside by his dark mistress and ages rapidly. Seems like the real-life Bowie is still playing vampire games: he looks almost as young now as he did in 1983.
Kiefer Sutherland in "The Lost Boys" Teen angst turns deadly when Kiefer Sutherland is thirsty in this two-Coreys (Haim and Feldman) classic. We might let Kiefer take us to the pier for a night out, but we're definitely NOT ordering the Chinese food.
Frank Langella in "Dracula" We think it was his eyes that made Frank Langella the most captivating cat from Transylvania. Dating Whoopi Goldberg in the late '90s sucked a little bit of the sexy out of his veins, but try to block that from your memory and give Frank a chance.
Stephen Moyer in "True Blood" Just when we were about ready to give up on the tired old blood-sucking genre, this guy swoops in with vampire speed. Pale, brooding, sunken-cheeked. Yummy. And he's really nice to his human girlfriend. Exactly the kind of vampire a girl dreams of meeting.
