Oprah Wants You to Enroll in 'O University'

Oprah's Best Life Week kicks off 2009
Harpo Productions, Inc.
It's that time of the year when I find myself reflecting on all of the ups and downs of the previous 12 months and silently ticking off a list of resolutions that I know I will never keep. There's the weight I need to lose and the money I need to save, the phone calls I should make and the classes I should join. And as the list grows and branches into more specific resolutions (like the one about sending birthday cards on time), I eventually dismiss the whole tradition as something only fools participate in.
Obviously that doesn't get me any closer to solving my problems, so what's a girl to do?
This year Oprah Winfrey is doing what only she can; she is organizing "the world's largest classroom" for her massive audience (viewers, readers, listeners and website users) to "confront the issues in their own lives and make a commitment to wake up and unlock their own personal happiness in 2009." It's called the Best Life Series, but Oprah has also referred to it as 'O University.'
"I'm facing this [weight gain] in my own life, so I'm sure other people are also facing this too. So we have turned it into something that could be of service to our viewers and our readers." - Oprah Winfrey
