For those who love "The Biggest Loser," but don't have 2 hours to watch every week...
Week 5 got a lot of fans riled up! Crazy Eyes (aka Tracey) got control of the game again, so let's just say lots of drama ensued, and Liz is a star in this episode. I recommend you watch the full episode, because it is definitely worth the 2 hours.
The Drama:
The episode started with a temptation challenge, where the winner assumes responsibility for dividing the teams into Blue (Bob's team) and Black (Jill's team). Of course, Tracey won the temptation, whereas nice people like Rudy had to eat cake (1,500 calories)! The worst part was watching them freak out because they were separated from their beloved partner or trainer -- Amanda and Bob truly have a special bond. The best part, though, was watching Bob and Jillian's reactions when Tracey chose Bob as her trainer. Umm, awkward? And she certainly stacked the Blue team: Allen, Mo, Liz, Rudy, Rebecca, and herself. She essentially broke up all of the pairs (except her and Mo and Shay and Daniel) and put the strongest, yet heaviest, players on her team.
The Challenge:
The "over the river and through the woods" challenge (that's my nickname for it) was pretty ho-hum. Basically, the teams carried one player on a platform and had to go up a few small hills and through two large, muddy puddles. Obviously, the Blue team was going to crush the Black team -- and they did. There were some funny moments, like Shay screaming at Daniel, but Amanda losing her shoe was the best. Overall, this challenge was a bit of a dud, but the prize was videos from home.
The Weigh-In:
I loved this weigh-in; it was a nail-biter to the end. The Blue team thinks they will win from the moment they step on the scale... And it looks like they will, since it comes down to the final two Black team members, Shay and Daniel, who need to lose 19 lbs. total. That's a lot! Drum roll, please: Daniel loses 11 lbs... then Shay gets up on the scale and starts crying because she has been in this position before and failed, which put her team in jeopardy for elimination. The weigh-in music plays, and Shay loses 16 lbs.! Whammo, the "stacked" team gets punched in the gut, while the Black team goes bananas. But my favorite part of this whole segment is when Tracey loses an impressive 7 lbs., and no one claps, which is what happened to her the previous week. While this is rude and unsportsmanlike, I dislike her so much; I would probably do the same thing. Apparently this lack of respect freaks her out, and she starts to babble and rant while still up on the scale. The crazy talk is a treat, so enjoy watching it!
The Elimination:
Wow, the millions of viewers all assumed that Tracey was heading home. Liz, who secured immunity because of her great weight loss, was single-handedly going to take her down, right? But no, Mo had to jump in and volunteer... He claimed, as a coach, he would consider his recent injuries and moderate performance on the scale as a liability to the team. Rudy fired back that team unity (or something like that) was also important. Alas, the team votes unanimously and sends Mo home. I am wondering if this will come back to haunt them, just like it did in Season 6 with Vicky. BTW, Bob told me that Vicky called him recently, she is doing really well, and she finally learned what she was meant to learn from him and her time on the ranch. That's good news, and I'm relieved to hear it, although I still stand by my assessment that she was one of the evilest "Biggest Loser" contestants of all time. Tracey is now on that list.
"The Biggest Loser" is on NBC at 8pm ET on Tuesdays.
Talk About It: Did the Blue Team make a huge mistake by sending Coach Mo home over Tracey?
