Since baseball will soon be handing out their coveted MVP awards, we thought it was an appropriate time in the fall season to hand out our own accolades to the performers who often don't get enough recognition -- and in some cases are the only reason to tune in to their respective shows:
10. Judith Light ("Ugly Betty")
As Claire Meade, she's got insane hair and doesn't care, she's no-nonsense but not bitchy like Wilhelmina and she even gives out sage dating advice. She's all-around awesome and she's the boss!
9. Tim Gunn ("Project Runway")
He's the same reliable, challenge-introducing, critique-giving, legging-hating lovable person he always was, though he does have a strange misguided affection for shirt-dresses.
8. Enver Gjokaj ("Dollhouse")
Male doll Victor is always entertaining, no matter what personality they imprint on him. We'd love to see far more episodes fashioned around him... well, if we get any more episodes at all.
7. Danny Pudi ("Community")
As Abed, he's a little neurotic, possibly suffers from Asperger's and seemingly loves TV and movies more than even we do.
6. John Cho ("FlashForward")
What the future for his character Demitri will hold -- or won't -- is exciting, and as an actor he's far more engaging than Joseph Fiennes.
5. John Noble ("Fringe")
Never mind Olivia and Peter, it's Walter that we love the most. His odd inventions, utterly bizarre past, liberal attitude towards drug use and addiction to all things sugary are totally endearing.
4. Katie Cassidy ("Melrose Place")
Her portrayal of the bitch-in-heels Ella is the best thing we've seen since Heather Locklear's Amanda all those years ago. The biggest problem? Katie deserves a far better series.
3. Ian Somerhalder ("Vampire Diaries")
He's got a biting wit, a dark charm and some mysterious qualities as the devilish Damon that we really appreciate. Maybe he should just always play villains.
2. Jane Lynch ("Glee")
No one on Glee has us rolling on the floor laughing as much as Cheerio coach Sue Sylvester. She doesn't need to sing a note to impress us.
1. Aziz Ansari ("Parks & Recreation")
This show has gotten markedly better this season and there's been a lot more of Tom. Coincidence? We think not. With Tom more involved in Leslie's schemes, we've gotten a lot more laughs along the way. Now we're really glad this show got a second season.
