Amazon's fledgling original series "Alpha House" kicked off its official first season on Nov. 15, and by now fans are catching on that there's a new original series to compete with Netflix powerhouses "House of Cards" and "Orange Is the New Black." The new series, directed by Garry Trudeau, follows four Republican senators living in a house together on Capitol Hill and stars acting veterans John Goodman, Clark Johnson, Matt Malloy, and Mark Consuelos.

Jimmy Kimmel is in hot water!
On Saturday, hundreds of protesters targeted ABC Studios in Burbank, Houston, and Phoenix to protest the Oct. 16 segment of "Jimmy Kimmel Live" where one of the late night host's tiniest guests suggested that we should "kill everyone in China."
The comment was made by a young boy during an unscripted segment called "Kids' Table," after Kimmel asked a roundtable of children how the United States should repay its $1.3 trillion debt to China. Both ABC and Kimmel have since apologized for the comment, and are no longer airing "Kids' Table."
ABC said at the time, "We offer our sincere apology. We would never purposefully broadcast anything to upset the Chinese community, Asian community, anyone of Chinese descent, or any community at large. Our objective is to entertain." Kimmel added, "I just want to say I am sorry. I apologize. It was certainly not my intent to upset anyone."
However, Chinese-American groups and protesters refuse to accept the apology. ABC Studios has not responded to Yahoo TV's request for comment regarding the protests.

Is there anything the kids of "Duck Dynasty" haven't done? The Robertson family cemented their status as Louisiana royalty on October 18, when three of their offspring, Sadie 16, her brother, John Luke, and their cousin, Cole Robertson, landed spots in their high school homecoming court!
The kids clearly had a blast fulfilling their royal roles, and naturally the tight-knit family got in on the fun, posting photos of the ceremonies. "Duck" mom, Korie Robertson, documented the timeless high school tradition by posting a snap of herself sandwiched between her two children. John Luke, who served as a junior escort, looked handsome in a black tux, while Sadie, who was named a sophomore maid, donned a red dress. But that was just the beginning of Sadie's homecoming fashions!

Question: What do you get when you put Cheez-Its and chocolate together? According to Stephanie Izard, the winner of Season 4 of "Top Chef," you get a wedding cake! The Chicago-based chef and owner of Girl & The Goat said "I do" to her boyfriend, craft beer consultant Gary Valentine, on Sunday and, naturally, the food-centric couple treated their guests to fare they wouldn't forget. Partygoers cut into slices of wedding cake made of alternating layers of Strawberry Nesquik-infused chocolate marble cake with bacon buttercream and a Cheez-It-flavored cake with a filling of chocolate ganache, peanut butter, and chocolate-covered Cheez-Its. Yes, you read that right — Cheez-It flavored cake.

Let's face it, with 26 categories doled out at last night's 65th Primetime Emmy Awards, the losers outnumbered the winners by more than four to one.
That's a lot of loss. Nobody knows the agony of Emmy defeat better than Jon Hamm and Amy Poehler — they have collectively been passed over 20 times in seven different categories.
But instead of feeling sorry for themselves, they decided to celebrate their failure. Hence their private, no-trophies-allowed Losers Lounge Emmys afterparty.

Mirrorballs, and sequins, and samba, oh my!
The "Dancing With the Stars" cast was announced Wednesday morning and Twitter fans are already leaping with spandex-filled excitement about the new lineup ... but their cheers are for one future dancer you probably wouldn't expect.
Nope, it's not one of the ladies, who include Snooki, "Saved by the Bell" alum Elizabeth Berkley, "Glee" star Amber Riley, Valerie Harper, Christina Milian, and Leah Remini. As for the men, NFL Wide Receiver Keyshawn Johnson, "Pretty Little Liars" baddie Brant Daugherty, "High School Musical" alum Corbin Bleu, comedian Bill Engvall, and Jack Osbourne will tangle over the tango — and for votes — against Bill Nye the Science Guy.

Is orange really the new black? According to the hit Netflix show's supercute corrections officer, John Bennett, aka actor Matt McGorry, the answer is yes.
"Orange is definitely the new black," McGorry said in an exclusive interview with Yahoo! TV. McGorry, who has received rave reviews from critics for his role as a lovesick prison guard who falls for an inmate, says he never expected people to respond so well to his character in the first season. But we can't help but feel for the adorable Officer Bennett and his case of puppy love.
Before the show picks up its 13-episode sophomore season in 2014, it's time to get to know the real guy behind the sweetest C.O. at Litchfield Federal Prison.
