    • Sneak Peek of 'Under the Dome': Stephen King Says It's 'Riveting TV' [Video]

Get a first look at the summer series based on King's novel.

It's going to be a spooky summer on CBS.

In "Under the Dome," a 13-week series based on Stephen King's novel by the same name, a small town is cut off from the rest of the world by an inexplicable clear dome. Nobody knows where it came from, and nobody knows how to get rid of it. Mayhem rules as the townspeople fight for supplies and argue about courses of action. In a new extended sneak peek, King calls it "riveting TV."

"People's eyes are going to bug out of their heads when they see it," the author promises.

The mystery thriller's large cast boasts names like Dean Norris ("Breaking Bad"), Rachelle Lefevre ("Twilight"), Mike Vogel ("Pan Am"), and Britt Robertson ("The Secret Circle"). Behind the scenes, "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo" director Niels Arden Oplev helmed the pilot, while TV veterans like Neal Baer ("Law & Order: SVU") and Jack Bender ("Lost") are guiding the production.

    • Barbara Walters on Retiring From 'The View': 'I Have No Announcement to Make'

Rumors have been flying fast and furiously the last few days about Barbara Walters retiring from television. But when the longtime TV icon addressed them this morning on "The View," she said "nothing is going on" -- yet.

"There were many reports last week saying that I was retiring from ABC and there was an assumption that I would be making an an announcement today," Walters said at the top of the show. "And the paparazzi were outside my home today ... However, here I am, and I have no announcement to make."

Still, her words weren't quite a denial. A source recently confirmed to omg! that the 83-year-old is planning to step down from "The View" as well as other ABC news duties in May. It would mark the end of a television era; the boundary-shattering newswoman served as the first female co-host of "Today" and the first female co-anchor of "ABC Evening News."

Walters created "The View" in 1997 and appeared as an occasional co-host

Max Irons is wasting no time conquering both the big and small screens.

The 27-year-old rising star made audiences swoon in this past weekend's "The Host," a movie based on "Twilight" author Stephenie Meyers's novel. And this summer, he'll do the same as hot-blooded King Edward IV in Starz's sexy new drama, "The White Queen."

Irons is following in the historical-minded footsteps of his father, Oscar winner Jeremy Irons. Like his dad, who stars in Showtime's "The Borgias," the younger actor will be tackling a famous real-life figure.

JGL competed against Kirsten Dunst on a teen celebrity version of the game show in 1997.

Is it possible to fall more in love with Joseph Gordon-Levitt? Yes, it is! Before the handsome actor made hearts flutter in "500 Days of Summer" and "Inception," he was an adorably nerdy teen excited to play "Jeopardy!"

Well, it was a teen version of "Celebrity Jeopardy!" that pitted the "3rd Rock From the Sun" star against Kirsten Dunst and Benjamin Salisbury ("The Nanny").

Called "Joey," the young actor got some clues right and some wrong. He incorrectly answered "Celine Dion" for this one: "Her self-titled debut album, which included the hit 'Vision of Love,' reached the top of the charts in 1990." (It's Mariah Carey.)

But for another clue, "Holden Caulfield, the hero of this Salinger novel, hates movies, phones, and his classmate Ernest Morrow," an excited Gordon-Levitt couldn't wait to answer.

"Ooh ooh," he said while host Alex Trebek read the clue. "What is 'Catcher in the Rye?' I'm so excited! That's my

    • Emilia Clarke Was Not the First Choice to Play Daenerys Targaryen on 'Game of Thrones'

Tamzin Merchant was set for the pivotal role that Clarke took over.

It's hard to imagine anyone but Emilia Clarke playing the fiery Daenerys Targaryen on "Game of Thrones," but she almost didn't end up with the role.

When the HBO drama shot its pilot episode in late 2009, British actress Tamzin Merchant portrayed the then-naive, innocent Dany. But Merchant -- who starred in Showtime's "The Tudors" as Henry VIII's fifth wife, Catherine Howard -- had to leave the project for unknown reasons.

After the series was picked up in spring 2010, HBO announced that Clarke, a relative newcomer at the time, would take over. As Clarke recalled to HeyYouGuys.co.uk, "Tamzin had the role and they filmed the pilot internally so HBO were the only people that saw it. Once they decided to give the whole show the go-ahead, they decided to do a number of recasts."

At the time, Clarke had recently graduated from Drama Center London, but she was struggling to land roles when she got

Elena finds Katherine -- and the cure -- but there's a complication.

      There's something about Katherine.

Who hasn't she made fall in love with her by this point? Damon, Stefan, Elijah … is it the bad-girl thing? Her biting wit? The hair?

Whatever it is, Katherine is up to her usual antics, except maybe … just maybe … she's changing. Maybe this time, she really is in love.

Let's check in on our various couples, duos, and alliances this week:

      Elena and Rebekah

The not-BFFs find Katherine hiding out in a sleepy little town, where she's compelled everyone to forget who she is when they aren't talking directly to her. Of course, since Elena is her doppelganger, that rule doesn't apply, and they pick up her trail.

After finding her, they corner her in a diner and Rebekah uses her Original strength to make Katherine talk. She took the cure to make a deal with Klaus, who's been hunting her for centuries. When they scope out her phone, they see Katherine's got an appointment with "M" later. Hmm, who is this mystery man? Elena takes her doppelganger's

The "Dancing With the Stars" competitor renewed her vows to husband Ken Todd on the "RHoBH" finale.

Here comes the bride … again!

The season finale of "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" saw Lisa Vanderpump renewing her vows to husband Ken Todd after 30 years of marriage. To mark the occasion, she shared photos of her first wedding in 1982. In the snapshots (in color and black-and-white), Vanderpump is wearing a poofy, frilly white gown with a long veil. Todd is wearing a tuxedo and holding a top hat as they appear to be boarding a horse-drawn carriage.

In their renewal ceremony, the restaurant owner chose an elegant black dress, while her husband sported a pink shirt and held their beloved dog, Giggy. They have two children, Pandora and Max.

At first, Vanderpump didn't want to renew her vows. Todd suggested it five years ago, but she hesitated. Finally, after a trip to Paris, Vanderpump realized life was too short to not celebrate her marriage again.

"Thirty years ago, I stood at your side full of hopes and dreams. You have managed to fulfill most of those hopes and dreams,"

    • 'Scandal' Recap: Worst Guy in the World

Olivia and the gladiators take on Hollis as a client, while Jake makes his move.

Good guys turn out to be bad, bad guys turn out to be good … it's hard to keep them all straight on "Scandal."

We thought for a second that Jake was a standup guy who got put into a tough situation by his pal, Fitz. Sure, spying on the girl he's dating is creepy, but heck, the president asked him to. But by the end of this episode, it's clear Jake's got a darker agenda than making Olivia's knees wobble.

      Hostage situation

The episode starts out with Cyrus calling up his old buddy, Charlie, to dig up some dirt on Jake. Charlie wonders if James is cheating on Cyrus. Nope, it's his other husband, Fitz!

Meanwhile, the "couple" in question is at the White House, talking about the hostage situation. The president wants Jake to find out who the mole is. "If things go well, maybe we find a place for you here that's more official," Fitz says (as somewhere, Cy experiences a random heart spasm).

We have no doubt Schmidt (Max Greenfield) will totally be onboard to help her "speak now," which happens to be one of Swift's song about breaking up a wedding.

This marks one of Swift's rare forays into acting -- she's appeared in "CSI," starred in the movie "Valentine's Day," and hosted "Saturday Night Live."
