    • Nia Opens Up About Sexual Assault on 'The Real World: Portland' [Exclusive Video]

Over its more than 20 years on the air, MTV's "The Real World" has strayed from its social-experimental roots of bringing together young adults from different walks of life and shedding light on social issues important to youth culture. Recent seasons have instead focused on a cast of uncommonly good-looking 20-somethings binge drinking, fighting, and hooking up. But every so often, viewers get a peek at what the groundbreaking series was once all about.

    • The Most Seaworthy Superstitions, Rituals on 'Deadliest Catch'

Fishermen are a notoriously superstitious band of brothers, and why wouldn't they be? Not only do they have centuries of customs passed down from previous generations of anglers, but they also toil in the world's most dangerous profession up to 10 months a year. So why not a little (or a lot of) juju to help keep their time at sea on an even keel? Open water is an unpredictable and mystical place, after all.

The tenacious captains of Discovery Channel's "Deadliest Catch" know these traditions inside and out (and make up their own as time goes on), and you better believe that they believe; it's part of their history and their reality.

      Stay Stressed

Preparing a vessel for the fishing season is a stressful but there are some superstition-based precautions that the "Deadliest Catch" crews take to help ensure their safety … they hope.

Captain Sig Hansen of the Northwestern told Yahoo! TV about numerous customs that have been around forever (or so it seems), such as biting the head off a

    • 'General Hospital' Celebrates 50 Years: Highlights From Paley Center Panel

Not many TV shows can boast a spot in the "Guinness Book of World Records," but "General Hospital" is not just any show (especially nowadays, with the decimation of so many longtime daytime dramas); it's the longest-running American soap opera of all time and the third-longest-running drama. It's also won more Daytime Emmys for Outstanding Drama Series than any other program. More than that, it's been beloved by millions of viewers over its 50-year run (its first episode aired on April 1, 1963).

Executive producer Frank Valentini, head writer Ron Carlivati, and some of the show's biggest stars (Jane Elliot, Jason Thompson, Finola Hughes, Jacklyn Zeman, Genie Francis, Laura Wright, Maurice Benard, Kristina Wagner, Kirsten Storms, and Kimberly McCullough) gathered at the Paley Center in Los Angeles, Calif. to discuss the iconic soap, what 50 years in Port Charles means to them, and what's to come.

    • Preview: Original 'Simpsons' Writers Hold Reunion [Video]

On an upcoming "Serious Jibber-Jabber With Conan O'Brien" episode, "Simpsons" scribes reminisce on the beginnings of the animated comedy.

Ah, to be a fly on the wall of the writers' room during the early days of "The Simpsons." Well, we'll do you one better: onetime "Simpsons" scribes Al Jean, Mike Reiss, Jay Kogen, Jeff Martin, and Conan O'Brien all gathering on O'Brien's online chat show "Serious Jibber-Jabber" for an in-depth convo about the early days of the iconic animated series, their personal lives, and more. And while the series is intended to be more contemplative and less jokey, with this group of comedic geniuses (Jean, Reiss, O'Brien, and Martin all attended Harvard!) gathered in a spirited round table, the jokes write themselves.

You'd think, with an idea like "The Simpsons," there'd be no hesitation to jump in with both feet, but that wasn't the case. Kogen, whose father was also a TV comedy writer, tried to dissuade his son from signing on with the animated juggernaut, saying, "You're nuts. Don't ever do that. You'll ruin your career." As it turns out, father

    • Charlie Sheen Keeps Winning, Rolls Into 'Conan' in Military Tank [Video]

Sheen was banned from the Warner Bros. lot following his 2011 meltdown.

Charlie Sheen's not only winning, he's indestructible. At least he was for a minute, when he rolled back onto the Warner Bros. lot for the first time in more than two years -- this time in a military tank with two "goddesses" in tow -- to plug his new movie "Scary Movie 5" on "Conan." Sheen was famously banished from the WB lot in 2011 after his notorious and extended public meltdown, which got him canned from CBS's cash cow "Two and a Half Men" by fed-up executive producer Chuck Lorre.

His highly publicized meltdown all began when the erratic star was rushed to a Beverly Hills hospital following a drug-fueled sex-capade with a slew of porn stars in January 2011. He followed that up by trashing a suite in New York's Plaza Hotel. Shortly after, during an interview with ABC's Andrea Canning, he said, "I'm bi-winning," as a response to her suggestion that he's bipolar. He also famously said, in one of the many interviews that followed, "I am on a drug, and it's Charlie Sheen!"

    • Elliott Neese is MIA on 'Deadliest Catch' Season 9 Premiere [Exclusive Video]

Break out the Dramamine; it's almost time for Season 9 of "Deadliest Catch" to push back from port and set sail on another stressful and hazardous fishing season in the Bering Sea. Discovery's Emmy Award-winning reality series follows fishing vessels and their crews, who toil in the world's most dangerous profession up to 10 months per year.

[Related: 'Deadliest Catch': The Top Five Close Calls]

In this exclusive sneak peek at the season premiere, "Mutiny on the Bering Sea," it's pretty obvious that prepping to set out toward red- and blue-crab grounds borders on pure chaos for the captains, crew, and deckhands all across Dutch Harbor. "Rally time, baby!" says Scott Campbell, aka "Junior," of the Seabrooke.

Still, amid the excitement, they couldn't help but notice someone was missing: Elliott Neese of the Ramblin' Rose, the youngest captain in the fleet who struggled during last season's run. "In all honesty, I'm kinda not surprised Elliott isn't here this year," says Sig Hansen,

    • Get a Sneak Peek at Lindsay Lohan on 'Anger Management' [Video]

Lohan pokes fun of herself on Charlie Sheen's FX comedy.

Whether you call it a trainwreck or sitcom gold, Lindsay Lohan's hyped-up guest spot on Charlie Sheen's "Anger Management" airs tonight. Lohan, as herself, will play a patient and romantic interest of therapist Dr. Charlie Goodson (Sheen). And as seen in these sneak peeks at the episode -- aptly titled "Charlie Gets Lindsay Lohan in Trouble" -- LiLo's sassy and comedic self-deprecating streak continues. On April 9, she skillfully dodged a series of rehab-related questions (she was court-ordered to enter a facility for 90 days starting May 2) on the "Late Show With David Letterman" by making plucky remarks ("Now you sound like Dr. Phil"), smiling, and playfully rolling her eyes.

In this clip, Lohan -- who just couldn't stay away from Goodson after their romantic evening -- tags along as he conducts a therapy circle with some inmates at a prison. Of course, she's wearing a low-cut floral, knee-length dress with a sexy black swath in back. (What else would LiLo wear to jail?)

    • 'Facts of Life' Star Mindy Cohn Reminisces About the '80s [Video]

Ah, 1980s nostalgia is in the air! And Mindy Cohn -- Natalie Green on the '80s series "Facts of Life" -- sat down with Michael Yo to reminisce about the way awesome decade, her hit show, and her A-list co-stars, George Clooney and Johnny Depp -- who she attests had that "it factor" from the start. Her favorite Clooney memory: when she and some other "Facts of Life" stars piled into Clooney's white Cadillac Coupe de Ville, drove to his apartment complex, and watched him hand his landlord a full year's rent. Sounds like he's always had that swag!

Fun fact about Cohn: She was discovered by Charlotte Rae (Mrs. Garrett) while attending a real-life school for girls when she was 12. Talk about art imitating life. What about the rumor that she's the godmother to Brangelina's kids? No comment! Can we just take that as a yes?

    • 'The Cosby Show' Takes '80s Family Top Honor in Nat Geo's Survey

"The Cosby Show" has been off the air for more than 20 years, but the Huxtables, that tight-knit, hilarious modern family of the '80s, has certainly not been forgotten -- and now we have statistical proof.

National Geographic (in collaboration with Kelton Research) conducted a pop-culture survey in support of its six-part miniseries, "The '80s: The Decade That Made Us," narrated by Rob Lowe, that explores how the radical, tubular, and totally fresh '80s still affect our 21st-century lives. And the fun-loving Huxtables took top honors when more than 1,000 nationally representative Americans (ages 18 and older) were asked the all-important question "Which of the following '80s TV families would you most want to be adopted by?" The Huxtables won with 38 percent of the vote.

Not only did the Brooklyn-based African American household with two successful working parents redefine the classic TV family -- they did it with style, humor, thoughtfulness, and love. Has there ever been a TV
