    • In the Hot Seat: What to watch (or not) on TV talk shows the week of February 11

      Monday, February 11

Watch: If you missed Julian Assange on the first airing, catch him on the rerun of "Real Time With Bill Maher." Ever wondered what different cuts of meat mean? Mario's breaking it down on "The Chew," and Carl Reiner's schooling Kimmel (and fellow guest Mindy Kaling) on comedy. (We assume. Carl Reiner is awesome.) Also awesome: Fallon's random guest combo of Carmelo Anthony and John Goodman.

Skip: If David Spade isn't your thing -- and he isn't ours, "Tommy Boy" aside -- avoid "Ellen DeGeneres" today.

      Tuesday, February 12

Watch: Shay Mitchell tells some "Pretty Little" lies on "Nikki & Sara Live." "The Chew" takes Fat Tuesday verrrrrry seriously with jambalaya recipes and a visit to New Orleans's premiere king-cake baker. Cissy Houston is talking about Whitney on "The View" (and since Whitney's daughter is on record as saying Cissy's book is BS, you might see some fireworks there). And we can only hope Charles Barkley lends Jewel some backing vocals on Leno.

    • Ari Gold's 'Entourage' house for sale

"Entourage" fans, call your mortgage brokers: Ari Gold's house is for sale. And if you didn't care for the abrasive agent played by Jeremy Piven, the property's still a long chapter of classic Hollywood history: The platonic ideal of happy TV families, Ozzie and Harriet Nelson and their sons David and Ricky, called the mansion home for decades.

[Related: Check out more photo from inside the house]

The Nelsons lived in the house during the making of "The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet," and the exterior even served as the "exterior" of the show's family home when the show shifted from radio to television. (The interiors weren't shot there, but were closely modeled on rooms inside the real thing.) Ricky Nelson, later a music superstar, wrote many of his songs at the house, which is in Western Hollywood. (Paradise Leased has the property selling for closer to $5 million, so you may have to write some top-10 hits of your own to afford it.)

    • Yahoo! TV Q&A: 'Alpha Dogs' exec producer Jack Osbourne talks K-9 and 'Fuse News'

Jack Osbourne is a Renaissance man -- and a busy one. Since making his household-name debut on MTV reality show "The Osbournes" a decade ago, he's hosted shows like "Jack Osbourne: Adrenaline Junkie" and "Saving Planet Earth," posed semi-naked to raise awareness of testicular cancer, directed a music video for dad Ozzy, and moved into TV production. And he's got a baby daughter at home.

His latest project, "Alpha Dogs," introduces us to the work of the Vohne Liche Kennels in Indiana, where the world's top police and military dogs are trained. The show premieres tonight at 9 PM on NatGeo Wild, and showcases the program's secrets and successes (and one semi-failure, the adorable Kirby). Osbourne spoke to us earlier this week about "Alpha Dogs," his new job as a correspondent for new music-news show "Fuse News," and juggling all his projects.

"Executive producer" can mean a lot of things, involvement-wise. How involved were you in the beginning of the project, getting it started and

    • 6 sweet Valentine's Day episodes

A Valentine's Day episode is a goldmine for a TV show. Either it's an excuse for dramas and soaps to amp up the romance (and sex) by getting couples together, tearing them apart, or throwing a formal dance into the high-school works; or it's a treasure trove of sitcom misunderstandings, bad dates, and worse behavior.

We could barely narrow down the episodes with the title "Valentine's Day Massacre," much less pick our all-time favorite Valentine's eps -- it wasn't easy, but we picked these six as the best. Scary, funny, cringey, cute: There's something for everyone, so settle in with a box of chocolates and watch your favorite, then vote in our poll below!

      Arrested Development, "The Marta Complex"

Michael is falling for Gob's girlfriend, Marta -- but agrees to help Gob track down the guy Gob says Marta is cheating on him with, a mysterious man named "hermano" (who is, of course, Michael himsef, but he finds that out after he's made a huge mistake). We're also introduced to

    • 'Nashville' recap: Two paths diverged on a tour

We've really enjoyed Eric Close's portrayal of Teddy on "Nashville." Teddy knows he "shouldn't" feel emasculated by Rayna's success, but he does, and Close has made that sympathetic to the audience while still occasionally having Teddy act like a petulant teenager -- as he does at the beginning of "I've Been Down That Road Before" when he finds out that Deacon has joined Rayna and Juliette's tour. Rayna tries to tell him Deacon's with Juliette and she had no idea, but Teddy isn't having it, and pouts when he finds out Rayna has seen Deacon since firing him. The "we've been friends for 20 years" rationale isn't working for him, either.

Aaaand neither is staying faithful to a woman he thinks isn't really working on their marriage. When he runs into Peggy out and about, he finds out that she's moved out from her husband, and between that and the little lecture Peggy gives him on how he deserves "someone who tells him

    • 'The Carrie Diaries' recap: Playing dress-up

We're not big fans of Halloween episodes -- they fall so easily into clichés and single entendres about disguises -- but "Fright Night" is a decent one that doesn't haul the "it's okay to pretend to be someone else" bromides out of mothballs until the very end.

Carrie is headed to Larissa's Halloween party in the city; Walt has nicely agreed to go with her. Dressed as Charles and Diana, they find Larissa flying high on two Ecstasy tablets, a tab of acid, and expensive champagne -- and Bennett Wilcox, an "Interview" columnist dressed as a Kubrick Droog. Carrie has eyes for him, but gets sidetracked by trying to keep Larissa from jumping off the roof, then listening as Larissa has her "the city is full of people but so lonely" monologue (nice acting from Freema Agyeman in a done-to-death subplot). It really doesn't matter, because everyone can easily see that Bennett actually has eyes for Walt. Except Carrie. …Wait: Walt doesn't figure it out either until Bennett plants one on him, and

    • Samsung uses 'Galaxy' of comedy stars in Super Bowl ad [Video]

Samsung's "Next Big Thing" ad starts off well, with Paul Rudd and Seth Rogen -- as themselves -- arguing over which of them Samsung is going to hire as the face of their Next Big Thing campaign. After a fairly long snap fight that sees Rudd calling Rogen fat and Rogen calling Rudd old, they're called into a meeting with Bob Odenkirk and forced to pitch ideas for commercials that don't feature them as the stars. (Don't blink or you'll miss Amber Stevens as Odenkirk's assistant.)

Then Odenkirk takes a "meeting" with LeBron James on his tablet, a meta moment ensues... you know what, watch the ad, above. It's faster.

But... not much. Rogen, Rudd, and Odenkirk are reliably funny, and we applaud James's gameness, but the spot just lasts too long. A series of great lines at the beginning gives way to the sound of leaking air as the pitch meeting goes on...and on...and on. Split it into two ads next time, guys.

What'd you think? Funny? Too long? Started out the former, then became the latter?

    • Super Bowl spot for pistachios features Psy and, um, dancing nuts [Video]

We have to admit, we weren't really looking forward to the ad for pistachios featuring Psy and his Gangnam Stylings. It's been parodied by just about everyone at this point; what could it have left to give?

Well, maybe we let our cynical defenses down during the lengthy blackout at the Superdome, but a life-size pistachio in tights and black heels, bugging out to Psy's famous K-pop single, made us smile. (And crave pistachios. Well played, sirs.)

What do you think: Tired retread of a tired trend? Or a cute new twist on the same old meme? Tell us in the comments, or follow the conversation on Twitter on the hashtag #crackinstyle.

    • Amy Poehler hawks Best Buy, says 'dongle' in Super Bowl ad [Video]

Golden Globes hostess with the mostess Amy Poehler went shopping -- hilariously -- at Best Buy during a Q1 Super Bowl ad. She also said "dongle" a bunch of times, which cracked us up, and yelled while wearing noise-cancelling headphones, which also cracked us up even though that joke is totally cheap, and wondered if LTD is "contagious," which ditto.

The "Parks & Recreation" star and co-creator puts a Best Buy salesperson through his paces in the 30-second spot, asking him tons of rapid-fire questions (thus the hashtag #InfiniteAnswers) and even grabbing him by the lapels at one point.

Cute spot; did you think it beat the Ozzy Osbourne "What's a Bieber?" ad?

    • Budweiser Black Crown debuts in the first post-kickoff Super Bowl 2013 ad [Video]

The first post-kickoff spot in Super Bowl XLVII belonged, unsurprisingly, to that most American of brands, Budweiser -- which used the spot to advertise its new microbrew-esque brand extension, Budweiser Black Crown.

The ad showcased lots of black (shocker), and a table full of beer connoisseurs toasting to their own good taste. Not a great ad per se, but the bottle design (and marketing concept) is solid.
