But this year, she was the target of some fashion policing over a $250,000 manicure that some considered wasteful and tacky. Now she's taking the opportunity to defend herself.

      Osbourne was the person who brought attention to the manicure, posting an Instagram photo and writing, "About to get a $250k manicure w nail polish made w blk diamonds" before she reported for E! on the Emmy red carpet. "I have a big mouth & i know it! I just don't like knowing that I have unintentionally offended anyone! If its intentional I don't give a S***," she wrote.

    • Top 5 moments from the Emmy press room

      From actors to writers and directors, Nokia Theater was packed with television favorites. In the press room, there were many moments that most people didn't get to see. Here are the top five:

      • Elizabeth Moss (Peggy Olson in "Mad Men") and Ben Feldman (Michael Ginsberg in "Mad Men") kept things cool. They are clearly close in real life and they were hanging outside leisurely chatting with a few friends before the show began.
      • Jon Cryer (Alan Harper in "Two and a Half Men") seemed genuinely surprised when he won for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series.  In fact, he says he was so certain Jim Parsons from "The Big Bang Theory" was going to win that he hadn't bothered to think about an acceptance speech and said that's why his "sucked."
      • Julie Bowen (Claire in "Modern Family") was so excited to hear who won Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series that she delayed the start of her interviews so she could watch the live feed from the press room.

      LOS ANGELES — At the Emmys, Tom Hanks received onstage attention for his mustache and his work as a producer for "Game Change," which won an award for best miniseries or made-for-TV movie. But when the TV cameras were off, the actor had some fun with the massive statuette he received.

      Hanks, proving he has a great sense of humor, got his hands on some packing tape after the show and fastened the Emmy to the front of his car. Then he kicked off a quick lap to test out the makeshift hood ornament on the town car. "And, GO!" he shouted to the driver, who seemed to be having fun and not just humoring Hanks. With five previous Emmy wins, Hanks can afford to have a good time with his new hardware.

      Meanwhile, "Homeland" star Damian Lewis took the Emmy Award much more emotionally. He was unable to hold back as he celebrated his Emmy win for best actor with a touching telephone call to his two young children.

      1. #Emmys sees @SarahPalinUSA from its house
      She may have taken a backseat during the 2012 campaign season but the memory of Sarah Palin loomed large at the Emmy Awards with HBO's "Game Change" winning two major votes from the Academy electorate.

      Pols entrenched in this year's presidential campaign couldn't resist weighing in. Senator John McCain's daughter and prolific tweeter Meghan McCain retweeted the observation that "Game Change" was "75% SNL sketches and news clips." Not originally dramatic enough for you, @McCainBlogette? Meanwhile, veteran Democratic political strategist Donna Brazile couldn't resist a good Russia joke.

      2. Wuz the littlest Lannister robbed?
      Peter Dinklage and "Game of Thrones" fans were quick to express their dismay with the little Lannister's snub in light of Aaron Paul's win for "Breaking Bad."       Claire Danes ("Homeland") and Julie Bowen ("Modern Family") take home top Emmy honors"Homeland" earned Showtime its first Emmy for Outstanding Drama Series on Sunday night, breaking "Mad Men's" four-year winning streak. In the Outstanding Comedy Series category, "Modern Family" took home the win for the third year in a row.

      The 64th Primetime Emmy Awards show has come and gone. We tuned in to catch the moments that made us sit up and take note. There were certainly plenty of those. Let's take a look.

      Julia Louis-Dreyfus's speech stunt

      "Parks and Recreation" star Amy Poehler was up for Lead Actress in a Comedy. But so was Julia Louis-Dreyfus, for the HBO show "Veep." Only one can win, but two can do a bit.

      The "Veep" actress began reading her speech from the stage, obviously meant for Poehler. "I'd like to thank NBC, 'Parks and Rec,'" she started. Poehler then ran up and handed her the right speech.  Louis-Dreyfus then delivered her actual speech, saying at one point, "This show is a comedy but there's nothing funny about me being vice president of the United States."

      This year's Emmys shook things up in the top categories with a few surprise wins… and some early favorites went home empty-handed. Read on to get the scoop on the night's biggest snubs and surprises.

      "Mad Men" (Snub)

      Emmy's love affair with AMC's impeccable period drama seems like it might be on the rocks. (Funny, that's also how Don Draper likes his whiskey.) After stringing together four straight wins for Best Drama, the cast and crew of "Mad Men" had to stew in their seats this year while newcomer "Homeland" took home the top prize. And despite coming into the night with a whopping 17 nominations, you know how many Emmys "Mad Men" won? None. Not one! That's the biggest single-year shutout in Emmy history. Jeez, we know Season 5 was a bit of a letdown compared to the near-flawless Season 4, but it's still "Mad Men," for Pete Campbell's sake.
