Here at Yahoo! TV, we're incredibly proud of our web series "Burning Love," so we're very excited that the show is the first ever Yahoo! series to be nominated for an Emmy Award!
The show, nominated in the "Outstanding Special Class - Short-Format Live-Action Entertainment Program" category, lovingly satirizes reality television, specifically dating shows, bringing in some of television and film's most hilarious performers to compete for the fictional affection of the star of the show, or in the case of the most recent season, "Burning Love: Burning Down the House," having past contestants and some new faces compete for a very lucrative $900 prize.
Stars of the show have included comedian Michael Ian Black, Ken Marino ("Childrens Hospital"), Kristen Bell ("Veronica Mars"), Ben Stiller ("Meet the Parents"), Adam Scott ("Parks and Recreation"), Jennifer Aniston ("Friends"), Adam Brody ("The O.C."), Malin Akerman ("Watchmen"), Ken Jeong ("The Hangover"), and Michael Cera ("Arrested Development") to name a few. These and other "contestants" must cleverly spoof some of reality romance's quintessential moments and notorious contestants.
For fans of "The Bachelor" and its various spinoffs, this is a welcome romp into the world of socially acceptable serial dating. For fans of comedy, it's a chance to see some of the best people in the business performing the most ridiculous roles. Whatever your creed, it's a great watch. Just ask the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
