"Breaking Bad" fans know that series director Michelle MacLaren is responsible for many of the show's "Oh, my God!" moments: the shootout between Tio Salamanca's nephews and Hank; Hank's lavatory revelation; Skyler and Marie's tussle over baby Holly; the Lydia-ordered hit on Declan; last week's desert shootout cliffhanger. It should be no surprise, then, that MacLaren received her fourth and fifth "Breaking Bad" Emmy nominations (as director and producer) for this year's ceremony.
The Canadian-born MacLaren, who first worked with "Bad" creator Vince Gilligan on "The X-Files," has also directed installments of "The Walking Dead," "NCIS," and "Game of Thrones," and is directing another pair of "GoT" episodes for Season 4.
