CBS's new high-tech thriller "Person of Interest" gets a snazzy new opening sequence this week that sheds some light on the all-powerful Machine that drives the show's storylines.

The Machine, for those who don't know, is a massive surveillance database developed by billionaire Mr. Finch (Michael Emerson) that uses pattern analysis to predict crime. The new opening utilizes cool high-speed photography and zoom-in graphics to demonstrate The Machine's ability to instantly analyze a person's threat level, while Finch explains how he recruited former special agent John Reese (Jim Caviezel) to use The Machine's data to stop crimes before they happen.

(Hulu) — Season 3 of "The Sing-Off" is shaping up to be as feel-good and glamorous as always.

This week, we got to meet the final eight a cappella groups that will compete, along with last week's top six, for the prize: $200,000 and a Sony Music recording contract, along with the chance to serenade America week after week. Contestants in "The Sing-Off" re-imagine familiar songs without the aid of a single instrument -- but it's the energy, emotion, and attitude brought to the task that makes for must-see TV, and wins the respect of the judges: "musical mastermind" Ben Folds, singer-songwriter Sara Bareilles, and Boyz II Men's Shawn Stockman.

On the new CW thriller "Ringer," Kristoffer Polaha has the enviable job of playing Sarah Michelle Gellar's lover ... kind of. The juicy drama revolves around a desperate woman named Bridget who assumes the identity of her twin sister Siobhan in order to escape from trouble, only to discover a whole new set of problems. One of those problems is named Henry — who has been having an affair with Siobhan, despite being her best friend's husband. (Got all that?)

Polaha, a former star of "Life Unexpected," dropped by Yahoo! Studios for an episode of "omg! Now," and we ambushed him on his way out to ask him whether Henry really is the dirtbag he appears to be (and to reminisce about 2008's gone-too-soon sitcom "Miss Guided").

But whether you love or hate her characters (there is no in-between), there's good news: She always plays the same role, so it's easy to decide to watch her in (adorable) action or avoid her like a twee plague of kittens and rainbows. Let's look at her most memorable roles and see how they align with her instantly recognizable persona.

Foul-mouthed comedienne Whitney Cummings is taking over your television this fall: Along with co-creating CBS's new hit "2 Broke Girls," she's starring in her own NBC sitcom, "Whitney," which airs Thursday nights in the plush post-"Office" slot. Based on Cummings' stand-up routine, "Whitney" features her and Chris D'Elia ("Glory Daze") as Whitney and Alex, a long-term couple who are determined to remain blissfully single while all of their friends get married.

The next episode of "Whitney" doesn't air until Thursday, but we've got the full episode for you to watch right here before it airs. On the episode (titled "First Date"), Whitney realizes that she and Alex have never been on an official "first date," so she wants to turn back the clock and have their first date now. But she also insists they keep it authentic by engaging in awkward dinner conversation and going their separate ways at the end of the night.

Can you still be cool once you've got a kid? That's the dilemma facing new parents Chris and Reagan in NBC's hit comedy "Up All Night." While Chris (Will Arnett) struggles to adjust to being a stay-at-home-dad for baby Amy, Reagan (Christina Applegate) tries to balance motherhood with her job working for talk show host Ava (Maya Rudolph).

The next episode of "Up All Night" doesn't air until Wednesday, but we've got it for you right now. On this week's installment (titled "Working Late and Working It"), Chris is dismayed that Reagan doesn't try to look sexy for him anymore, so he turns to a fellow dad (guest star Will Forte) for advice on keeping the romance alive. Meanwhile, Reagan has a disaster on her hands when Ava discovers an ex-boyfriend is getting married, triggering a massive freakout.
