Bea Alonzo has managed to maintain her A-list actress stature despite the emergence of other potential artists. Today, she is still recognized as one of the most beautiful faces in the industry.
Of course, success isn’t served on a silver platter. Starting from her entry in a beauty pageant to joining ABS-CBN’s talent center, Bea also had her share of downs, which she reveals in Olay Conversations hosted by Boy Abunda.
“You will get to know me more, the deeper side of me, and the hardships I had to go through before becoming who I am today,” she says talking about the interview. “I was not comfortable at first talking about myself and my childhood. I don’t know if I’m inspiring enough, smart enough, or interesting enough. After the interview, I felt so naked and yet liberated.”

She says that her beginnings as an actress started rough. “I wasn’t casted in any TV shows. Akala ko di nila ako gusto. Akala ko di ito para sa akin,” she recalls. “My primary concern was kelangan ko kumita ng pera. We weren’t rich.” But still, she kept on persevering and is grateful for the people who helped her get to the top. “Very patient sila sa pagtuturo sa akin what to do,” she says.
When it comes to criticism on how she looks, she has grown mature in looking at these disapproval. “When I was a lot younger, na a-affect pa ako. Na realize ko I had to do something about it. Mas healthy yung ginawa ko,” she says. “I felt proud and I felt na as long as I’m healthy, there is nothing wrong. I don’t have to be as slim as the others. I felt comfortable in my own skin.”

Already a shining bright star in the industry, she is still surrounded by humility. “The people that helped me kung nasaan man ako ngayon, like my family, my friends from high school, and my boyfriend, they keep me grounded.”
So what else is missing in Bea's life? “Siguro, I would love to meet my dad. That is something that is missing but that doesn’t define me. I am still complete without him. Sa perception ng lahat ng tao, that is something missing pero buo ako kahit wala siya.”
