  • Last night, the final four "Voice" contestants competed, and while all four had their standout moments, the entire two-hour episode was overshadowed by the bizarre feud between coach Christina Aguilera and her apparent arch nemesis and former "Mickey Mouse Club" co-star, Tony Lucca. Today, my "Day After" co-star, Matt Whitfield, and I are still wondering what exactly went down during their "MMC" days to cause such friction years later--and more importantly, if Xtina's open hostility towards Tony will backfire on her and actually cause Tony to win.

  • I admit that I've developed a bit of reputation as a Glambert, which means probably anything Adam Lambert-related with my byline slapped across it is taken with a grain of salt as chunky as one of Adam's old rhinestone bindis. "Of course she digs Adam Lambert's new album," some skeptics must think. "Lyndsey Parker saying she loves Trespassing is like Oscar The Grouch saying he is a fan of trash, or like Winnie The Pooh giving a jar of honey a five-star review." But seriously, people--listen to me when I say that Trespassing is one of the best pop albums you will hear in 2012.

Or, if you don't believe me, then just listen to the album yourself. I'll wait...

  • Team Xtina / Team Adam red carpet smackdown!Monday night was full of drama, drama, drama during "The Voice's" final showdown. We had children's choruses, white-robed choirs, Cee Lo riding a motorcycle onstage, Juliet Simms rocking a new hair color while battling the flu, teary Jermaine Paul having an emotional moment with his doting parents backstage, Tony Lucca controversially daring to do "99 Problems," and, most excitingly/perplexingly, Tony's ex-"Mickey Mouse Club" castmate and arch nemesis Christina Aguilera sinking her gel-manicured claws into him (accusing him of being a misogynist, texting during his performance, implying that he's not a "real man," etc.).

In other words...it was great television.

Backstage after the big show, Yahoo!'s Reality Rocks caught up with the final four to ask about all this drama and more. See Tony talk about his Xtina beef and whether he thinks his "99 Problems" cover crossed a line; Chris Mann discuss his lifelong dream of dueting on "The Prayer" with Christina, and if he thinks her sparring with Tony will hurt his chances; Juliet reflect on "Voice" gender issues and her deep connection with Cee Lo's cat, Purrfect; and Jermaine talk about his deep connection with his mom.

  • Please note the distance between Tean Xtina & Team AdamThe final four competed on "The Voice" this Monday, and while this was no doubt exciting, some of the lame, predictable song choices were enough to make "American Idol" seem hip. "You Raise Me Up"? "I Believe I Can Fly"? "Free Bird"???? Really? Last week, we had Lindsey Pavao doing Bon Iver's "Skinny Love"; this week, we had...Josh Groban. Le sigh.

Not to get into conspiracy-theorizing here, but oh, what the heck: The song selections were totally skewed in favor of Tony Lucca, who did Jay-Z's "99 Problems." Compared to the other contestants' boring song choices, this hip-hop cover made Tony look like some sort of creative genius, even if Kris Allen pulled a similar trick with his Kanye cover on "Idol" three years ago, and even if Tony's "99 Problems" arrangement was inspired by Hugo's 2010 version. At least Tony did a song outside of his genre, which gave him an edge that, frankly, he didn't even need.

  • photo: AP/Matt SaylesSorry, Christina Aguilera: I don't mean to sound catty, but we all know the real star of "The Voice" is Cee Lo Green's beautiful rented cat, Purrfect (the only verified cat on Twitter). So we all knew it was just a matter of time before Purrfect sank her claws into the music business herself. Today, the white Persian wonder dropped her new single, which is really an old familiar jingle: A remix of the resurrected Meow Mix theme song.
