Alex Wong, keytar make video debutAlex Wong recently returned to "So You Think You Can Dance" as an allstar, but after a series of unfortunate injuries that caused him to bow out of Season 7's competition and delayed his original Season 8 allstar stint, it's no wonder he's looking into backup career options. So why not give him singing a go, right? Alex actually successfully tried out for Nigel Lythgoe's other big talent show, "American Idol," earlier this year (his audition wasn't shown, but if you squinted hard, you may have seen him sitting in the theater during Hollywood Week)--and while he didn't make it to the live rounds, that didn't discourage him from pursuing a music career. The result is his first single and video, "Crave."

Witney and Cole go homeThis Wednesday was yet another sad "So You Think You Can Dance" night when the shocking difference between "America's favorite dancer" and America's best dancer was made abundantly clear. Remember when Russell Ferguson beat Jakob Karr in the Season 6 finale? Or when Twitch Boss edged out Katee Shean in Season 4? Yeah, it was sort of like that.Let's just cut to the chase here: This week, this season's token untrained street dancer with a heart of gold, ever-polarizing popper Cyrus "Glitch" Spencer, remained in the competition, while the arguably more deserving Cole Horibe (the martial-arts master who was my personal favorite male dancer of Season 9) was sent home. This should not have happened.

Simon Cowell isn't happy [photo: Fox]NBC just announced that next week's "The Voice" Season 3 premiere will be extended to three nights, Monday through Wednesday, conveniently--or not so conveniently, if you're an "X Factor" fan--overlapping with next Wednesday's big "X Factor" Season 2 premiere. And this news isn't just sending conflicted reality fans' near-capacity DVRs into meltdown mode. The biggest meltdown of all comes courtesy of "The X Factor's" own Simon Cowell, who is taking NBC's programming decision very personally, calling it "a cynical, cold-hearted, unprofessional way of doing business."Pia Toscano Officially Parts Ways With Record Label

photo: FoxPia Toscano sure has had a rocky time of it during her long and winding "American Idol" journey. First of all, she had to audition five times before getting on the show, and then, when she finally made it through in Season 10, she was voted off in ninth place, in what many fans considered to be THE most shocking "Idol" elimination of all time. All was not lost for Pia when Jimmy Iovine signed her to Interscope anyway...but now, after releasing only one single, "This Time" (which shifted a measly 65,000 units and stalled at number 104 on the Billboard chart), and no studio album, the powerhouse singer has announced via The Hollywood Reporter that she has officially parted ways with Interscope Records and 19 Recordings.Frenchie Davis Is A Soldier Of Love In Fierce New Video

Frenchie Davis, who first came to fame (and later infamy) as a disqualified contestant on Season 2 of "American Idol," then got a reprieve courtesy of coach Christina Aguilera on Season 1 of "The Voice," is getting yet another deserved chance as a pop diva with her fiercer-than-Sasha new dancefloor anthem, "Love's Got A Hold On Me." The '90s-reminiscent, Hi-NRG club banger is the lead single from her new album out later this year, and judging from its sound, I seriously think this woman could be the new Martha Wash, Gloria Gaynor, or Donna Summer.
