Television Without Pity
  • Snowboarders Andy and Tommy puzzle over another "Race" clue (CBS)Snowboarders Andy and Tommy puzzle over another "Race" clue (CBS)Thanks to yet another disappointing season filled with extremely easy challenges and lackluster contestants, we've almost given up hope that "The Amazing Race" can return to its former glory. Here are the stupidest moments from one of the show's worst installments.

    Shop 'Til You Drop
The Speed Bumps and the new "Hazard" have become notoriously easy tasks that give racers on the verge of elimination a better-than-fighting shot to get back in the game. We want to see some real challenges, not watch a person get dropped two stories in the mall via a bungee cord. Our grandmas could do that.

  • Waiter, there's a model in my salad (Nikos Papadopoulos/The CW/Pottle Productions Inc)Waiter, there's a model in my salad (Nikos Papadopoulos/The CW/Pottle Productions Inc)It was an all-star season for "America's Next Top Model," so we thought all of the ladies might be self-aware and behave themselves. Or, that after 16 cycles, Tyra Banks might have run out of bizarre photo shoot ideas. Luckily, we worried for nothing, as both the girls and Tyra really delivered the ridiculous goods.

    Tookie Time
In addition to trying to make "booty tooch" happen, Tyra introduced us to her alter ego Tookie. Tookie is the main character in her book "Modelland," and she's obsessed with whipped cream and likes to suck on the thumbs of boys while the smell of blood oranges fills the air. During one particularly uncomfortable shoot, she directed the girls in her usual monomaniacal style in a motion editorial about Tookie. It was beyond the trippy craziness we're used to from Tyra.

  • Arrr, matey: "Hart of Dixie" has taken "cutesy" to a whole new level (Greg Gayne/The CW)Arrr, matey: "Hart of Dixie" has taken "cutesy" to a whole new level (Greg Gayne/The CW)"Hart of Dixie" started out with a ridiculous premise, but we didn't think it would be able to deliver that kind of insanity on a regular basis. But it has, and not just by having a medical professional running around in short shorts and fighting to keep a practice with patients she is either grossed out by or has personally injured, but by making the "quaint" happenings in Stars Hollow seem practically normal by comparison.

    Turtle Time
Big sporting event in Bluebell? Turtle racing. And a turtle race that is fixed so snobby Southern women don't get all twisted up. Between that and the gumbo contest (which is almost just a shoo-in for Brick to win), there are far too many contrived "events" in this town designed to placate blowhards. And this one puts the poor turtles in the middle.

    Whistlin' Dixie
The pilot was ripe with bizarre images, like a fancy doctor walking in Louboutins on a dirt road, encountering an alligator (what is with this town and its animals?) and struggling to deal

  • truTV's The truTV series "Full Throttle Saloon" starts its third season this week, albeit without the fanfare of a "Jersey Shore" or a "Real Housewives of fill-in-the-blank." But that doesn't mean it is any less compelling. The show focuses on the popular bar at South Dakota's famed Sturgis Motorcycle Rally and features lots of drunken people, loud music, half-naked women, and a ton of money. Toss in some volatile relationships and you've got a solid reality show with rough-around-the-edges personalities that don't ham it up for the camera the way that The Situation or Lisa Vanderpump do.
