Alec Baldwin’s ‘SNL’ Appearance: What Did the ‘SNL’ Sketch Predictor Get Right?

Granted, the "SNL" Sketch Predictor is based on a combination of informed guesswork and pure imagination. But I will still get way too excited when I happen to be right about anything in the show. Below, a celebration of me and the things I accurately predicted — plus a couple of things I should have known to expect.

What I Got Right!

1. and 2. That there would be a GOP debate sketch, and that Baldwin would play Rick Perry.

3. That there would be a Steve Martin cameo.

4. and 5. That Baldwin would play Tony Bennett, and that Weekend Update would feature a look back at summer movies.

What I Should Have Also Predicted!

1. That Baldwin, whose mother lives in the Syracuse area, would want an opportunity to show off his "generic upstate New York" accent (though I'm told by a dear friend from Buffalo that Baldwin's accent was "GARBAGE").

2. That Baldwin would also impersonate Al Pacino (a performance of which he gave a preview on Friday's "Late Night").
