After settling for a stylish-but-uninformative teaser for weeks, "Bored to Death" fans now have an action-packed real trailer for Season 3 of HBO's weird and wonderful Brooklyn comedy. It looks like they spent a lot more money on this season: the trailer features crazy locations, swordfights, Sarah Silverman, and, as always, meditations on the burden of being human. Ted Danson, Jason Schwartzman, and Zach Galfianakis (who utters the Park Slope line, hilariously) return to TV on October 10th:

The future podcast star in his natural habitat. (Hulu)It seems weird to describe a person as a "star" of A&E's documentary series "Hoarders": Obviously, the true star of each episode is the hideous mess! But Matt Paxton, a professional cleaner specializing in extreme household hoards, is a very good second lead, and soon we'll get to imbibe his wisdom more than once a week: He's launching a podcast.Yesterday, Paxton announced on his Facebook page that the podcast, "5 Decisions Away with Matt Paxton," will start changing all our lives for the BETTER starting this November. (And if you have topics you'd like him to cover, he's taking suggestions!) And while some might say that an audio format is not the best medium through which to address the subject of hoarding (you need to SEE the filth and horror), Paxton also promises to "talk about [his] view on life in general."

By Tara Ariano | The Set – Thu, Sep 15, 2011 8:32 AM PDTFor a show virtually no one watched on a pay network hardly anyone even subscribed to, "Party Down" has a disproportionately big influence on subsequent pop culture. Just a few weeks after "Children's Hospital" (which stars two "Party Down" alumni) threw a "Party Down" mini-reunion in the closing moments of the season's penultimate episode, last night's season premiere of "Free Agents" featured a joke that would resonate with "Party Down" fans.

By linds | The Set – Thu, Sep 15, 2011 7:51 AM PDTIt looks like I was totally wrong in suggesting Barney and Robin's dancing in the first "HIMYM" promo might be part of one of those viral wedding dance things that "The Office" parodied at Jim and Pam's wedding in 2009. CBS has released the full scene (or at least much of it) with an explanation by Cobie Smulders on TV Line:
"It's an argument about how Robin doesn't realize what great chemistry [she and Barney] have," reveals Cobie Smulders. "A song comes on at a wedding, and this huge dance number happens. It takes them both by surprise."
Okay, that's much cooler than the viral wedding dance thing I was fearing. I should have trusted this show more. Barney and Robin's dance number is both technically impressive and funny, since they're doing that whole "I'm dancing and simultaneously realizing I can dance well" thing. The 7th season premieres on Monday with two back-to-back new episodes, and this makes me more excited for it than anything else I've seen so far:

By Tara Ariano | The Set – Thu, Sep 15, 2011 7:05 AM PDTOne of the more ridiculous moments of this week's Tea Party Debate of Republican Presidential candidates was when Minneapolis Congresswoman Michele Bachmann came out against Texas Governor Rick Perry's order of mandatory HPV vaccines for prepubescent girls in his state. Because she's against inoculating future women against cervical cancer, I guess? After the debate, Bachmann elaborated on her position by claiming in an interview that she'd met a woman whose daughter had suffered brain damage as a result of the vaccine, which all leading medical authorities in this country immediately refuted. In last night's episode of "The Colbert Report," host Stephen Colbert nicely summarized how ridiculous the whole thing was. Parents! Get your daughters vaccinated! Duh!
