Listen to a New NSFW-ish Interview With Jon Hamm

To the great excitement of comedy nerds who also enjoy quality cable dramas, Mr. Jon Hamm, star of "Mad Men," was the guest today on Marc Maron's insanely popular WTF podcast, and I listened to it and you should, too!

Here are some listening-notes for WTF Podcast first-timers:

1. There are plenty of bad words (and bad, uh, "ideas," I guess) so consider the entire thing NSFW, though it's also a serious and often very in-depth interview show.

2. Marc Maron jibberjabbers for the first 10-20 minutes of each podcast, and he does so in this one as well. The interview with Hamm begins at the 16 minute mark, so I just saved you 16 minutes! You are welcome!

3. Hard-core Hamm fans (Hammsters? No? I'm actually thinking yes! HAMMSTERS!) won't learn anything super-new from this interview, and in fact might be surprised at how little research Maron did before interviewing Hamm. That's just a Marc Maron thing. He's not curious about anyone and he doesn't prepare. I only mention it because questions like "Where are you from?" might stick out to anyone who has read or seen interviews with Hamm before (I mean duh, Saint Louis! Duh!)

4. Topics include: Hamm's childhood, his "Mad Men" audition, the reason he had to say no to "SNL" the first time they asked him to host, and just generally Jon being his usual, pompous, un-self aware, full-of-himself self—JUST KIDDING! He's his usual humble, funny, affable self. Had you going for a second there! You will also learn, in the very beginning of the interview, Hamm's feelings about the phenomenon that is the waxing of female parts, a topic on which I have not yet seen him weigh in. So that's fun. Go for a walk and listen! (And if you like it, go back on Thursday, when Hamm's network-mate Bryan Cranston of "Breaking Bad" will be the guest.)
