NBC Buys Hannibal Lecter Drama From the Creator of ‘Pushing Daisies’

We don't tend to write about news that might not end up being real news (like a network buying the rights to look at a script and make a series out of it if they like it, or not if they don't), but this one sounds more interesting than most: NBC has done that with "Hannibal," a potential one-hour drama about Hannibal Lecter, the most famous movie cannibal, to be written and co-produced by Bryan Fuller, producer of such twee shows as "Pushing Daisies" and "Wonderfalls."

If the show makes it onto TV, it will definitely be pushing the envelope of the seemingly neverending anti-hero TV trend. You can say a lot about Tony Soprano, Walter White, and Dexter Morgan, but they never actually ate anyone.
