Late-Night Pile-On: Conan and Jay Air Dueling Siri Parody Ads

When something big happens that everyone wants to make fun of, TV's late night comedy hosts are up to the task. While they sometimes end up making similar jokes, the men (and occasionally women) of late night comedy shows usually bring their own special points of view to events of great national interest. Here's our latest Late Night Pile-On.

My esteemed colleague Lindsay Robertson has already addressed the TV ads for Siri, Apple's new voice-activated digital assistant on the iPhone 4S. And now that the commercials have been running on television for a few days, the late-night shows have had a chance to assemble their own hastily produced parodies. And last night, viewers had the opportunity to do a side-by-side comparison of two shows' takes.

"The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" came at the topic from the perspective of how the product might be used by the very lazy and/or moronic.

Over at "Conan," producers took a slightly different tack: The joke was still on imbeciles, but instead of being motivated by laziness, the stars of this parody were portrayed intentionally messing with Siri for comedic purposes.

The joke that ends with "in miles" has made me laugh each of the three times I watched this clip and will probably make me laugh for the rest of my life.
