Emma Stone may be everywhere right now, with starring roles in "Crazy, Stupid, Love" and "The Help" both currently in theaters, but in 2004 she was just a plucky 16-year-old trying to make it in show business. Jezebel has uncovered a gem of an old clip of Emma, or should I say "Emily," as she was introduced back then: her audition for a sitcom called "The New Partridge Family," which was to air on Vh1 in 2004, but was canceled after the pilot was filmed.
Even though her singing (of the Pat Benatar karaoke fave "We Belong") isn't perfect here, the charm and good humor that would propel Stone to the top are already fully in evidence, and in fact, she won the role she was seeking in this audition (which was to be broadcast as well as "In Search of the Partridge Family").
We'll never know what might have happened had the show been picked up and been a hit (though in the current TV climate, at least, that's hard to imagine). Maybe Emma's off-the-charts likability would have single-handedly made the show huge. Either way, this blast from the past just serves as further proof that Emily "Emma" Stone has always been special:
