In the first broadcast of “Rizzoli & Isles” since the death of cast member Lee Thompson Young, the TNT drama aired a tribute to the late actor at the end of the episode.
Young died of an apparent suicide on Monday. The former star of the Disney Channel’s “The Famous Jett Jackson” was found dead in his apartment after failing to show up for work that morning.
At the end of Tuesday night’s episode, a memorial slate read, “In Loving Memory of Lee Thompson Young, 1984 - 2013.” That was followed by silent footage of Young as Detective Barry Frost, the character he played since the pilot.
Production on “Rizzoli & Isles” has been shut down since Monday, with cast and crew grieving over Young’s passing. It’s unclear when the drama, which stars Angie Harmon and Sasha Alexander, will resume filming. Nor have the show’s producers indicated how they will address Young’s death on-screen.
