As "The Walking Dead" hero Daryl Dixon, he's seen the most gruesome zombie kills – and been on the operator end of several of them with his trusty bow and arrows – but that doesn't make Norman Reedus immune to getting the bejeezus scared out of him when a zombie jumps out at him in his hotel room.
The "zombie" in question is "TWD" superfan Nick Santonastasso, who, along with "TWD" star Andrew Lincoln and producer Greg Nicotero, got a scream out of Reedus in the video, when Santonastasso jumped out of a hotel room service cart and startled Reedus.
Nicotero, also the series' visual effects whiz, put his best zombie makeup on Santonastasso, a New Jersey teen who documents his video pranks on his popular Vine page, which has more than a half a million followers. Santonastasso, 17, was born with a rare syndrome called Hanhart, and has only one arm and no legs, but, as his Twitter tagline proclaims, lives by the motto "No excuses."
The impressive teen was flown to Japan, where Reedus, Lincoln, and Nicotero are promoting the second half of the series' fourth season, which premieres on Feb. 9 on AMC.
Santonastasso also tweeted a photo of himself with his new pals Reedus and Lincoln, post-prank.
"The Walking Dead" Season 4 continues on Feb. 9 at 9 p.m. on AMC.
