It's 'Dancing With the Star Wars' as Billy Dee Williams Reveals Why He Signed Up for the Reality Show

"Dancing With the Stars" or "Dancing With the Star Wars?"

Billy Dee Williams got a surprise at this year's Wizard World Comic Con in Sacramento, Calif., and it gave fans a sneak peek at what to expect for his first week on "Dancing With the Stars."

The actor, who's best known for his role as Lando Calrissian in the last two episodes of the "Star Wars" trilogy, had a surprise visit from his "Dancing With the Stars" partner, Emma Slater, at the pop-culture convention. But forget the sequins and the spray tans — Slater was dressed as "Star Wars" icon Princess Leia.

Williams had plenty of praise for his pro dancing partner, calling her a "great teacher." And the 76-year-old film legend also opened up about his reasons for signing on to the celebrity dancing competition.

"It's scary, but it's not even about competing with anybody, it's more about competing with myself," he said. "I just want to see if I'm really, at this particular juncture of my life, capable. As a kid growing up in New York, I used to do a lot of dancing. And I've done maybe a little bit of dancing on stage. But I really want to see if I can pull this one off."

Williams then gave fans a sneak peek of his slowed-down smooth moves, while Slater petitioned for votes from the crowd: "Please!" she begged. "Vote for Billy Dee. He's tremendous. And hopefully you guys will like Week 1."

Will Billy Dee and Emma take a cue from Cloud City for their premiere night dance? They definitely seem to be having fun with the "Star Wars" theme:

"Has @emmaslaterdance gone to the dark side? Help us @RealBDW , you're our only hope! #dwts"

"Dancing With the Stars" premieres on Monday, March 17 at 8 p.m. on ABC.
