Mary Stuart has learned the hard way that being queen isn't all that it's cracked up to be.
This season on "Reign," Mary (Adelaide Kane) has gotten engaged to a man she hasn't seen since they were kids, moved to another country, and faced death threats.
And now she might become queen of another country!
In this sneak peek clip from tonight's big winter finale, Mary learns some potentially life-altering news: The queen of England is dying.
"Many suspect and believe the rightful heir to the English throne is you, Mary Stuart," King Henry proclaims. But while he's overjoyed at the news, Mary just looks stunned.
And that's not all! Henry goes on to note that Mary's marriage to his son, Francis (Toby Regbo) will help secure her claim.
"It's time you and Francis are wed," he declares.
Of course, since Nostradamus (Rossif Sutherland) has foreseen that their marriage will lead to Francis's death, those wedding bells might be funeral bells, too. And when Mary learns of the prophecy, can she actually walk down the aisle?
"Reign" airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. on The CW.
