You all have named shows that I enjoyed growing up, but come on...........I'm 62! Why is it that you don't know a good show when it stares you in the face? Personally, A Person of Interest is a great show, as are several others on the air. I DO NOT understand the popularity of drivel such as Jersey Shore and others of that ilk. I would love to see another Star Trek, brought up to date in the continuing saga. When you look back on that show, yes it appears as corny, but remember way back then they didn't have the special effects that are available today. And the biggie about that show - there was always a moral to it. As a matter of fact, most of the shows back then taought life lessons while entertaining. How many shows today can say that?

The popularity of Jersey Shore and anything Kardashian or "reality" is easy to understand. Remember that the average IQ is 100, so we can expect half the TV-watching public to have IQs below that...

What? No "Uncle Buck"? I remember when one of the kids said something along the lines of "This sucks..."...and it caused an incredible uproar. How times have changed!!!

I can get why they didn't mention every TV show from a movie.. but I don't get why they didn't mention Stargate that had spin off 3 series and more..
      • Synical1 4 months ago
Ya, a great spinoff but they should have stopped with the original.

      • Tai_Diannai 4 months ago
Actually, they did say Clerks. It was turned into an animated series for television that didn't make it.

Sarah Conner and Highlander were decient. Could have had some improvements, but, good overall.

I was going to comment about Stargate not making it, but it seems that several people managed to do so for me. Definitely should have been included.

    • Rocky  •  3 months ago
This wasn't even a good movie. What kind of loser would watch this complete and utter garbage?

How can Stargate not be mentioned here. It was first a movie and then spawned 3 series. Stargate:SG1 ran for 10 seasons plus some tv movies. Stargate: Atlantis ran for 5 seasons. Stargate: Universe ran for 2 seasons. That sounds pretty darn succesful so me.
      • StaceyM 4 months ago
The worst part about it is they canceled Atlantis when they had some great story lines and replaced it with crap. The Walking Dead is the best sci-fi show now.

The original SG-1 got kind of formulaic and predictable. Stargate Universe however, had a sense of wonder and exploration that really appealed to me. I hate that they never gave it a chance to draw an audience.

Don't watch the Napoleon cartoon. It's so godawful horrible, it'll make you never want to see the movie again.

      Yes, seriously...it's just that bad.

They need to make TV shows like they did in the early days. We liked , : Little House on the Prarie, That Girl, Bonanza, The Rifleman, Mork and Mindy, Victory at Sea, The Wonder Years, The Brady Bunch, The Hulk, Leave it to Beaver, I love Lucy, Eddie's Father, The Fugitive, L.A Law and I could go on! You get the picture!

Where is Stargate? You know, the movie that spawned 17 Seasons of Shows and Two other movies. And possibly a few movies in the future???
    • mommadawgs  •  Houston, Texas  •  4 months ago
What about "American Graffiti" becoming "Happy Days".
    • Nancy  •  4 months ago
They forgot the sitcom "Alice" based on the film "Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore."
    • Odd Ball  •  4 months ago
I really hate it when they try to remake a classic movie or TV show. They usually butcher it up.
    • D-Mills  •  4 months ago
I don't watch the Stargate TV series, but the movie was awesome and regardless of the quality of the series, its been on forever. It's gotta be mentioned.

And I thought that this would be about "the Firm," which is apparently a sequel to the 1993 movie with Tom Cruise and Gene Hackman (which was in turn based on a John Grisham book).

Making TV shows from movies is just further proof of the derth of new ideas and imagination in Hollywierd. So does the constant use of T&A and sex ijn almost every show. I miss the good old days of TV and movies the whole family could watch together without having to explain the show or what passes as "dialogue" to each other.

What about "In the Heat of the Night"?
    • ERIK  •  Austin, Texas  •  4 months ago
