History professor Porter Waide and his eight-year-old son Oscar, share a happy life together in California. Their lifestyle is abruptly changed by the addition of Porter's trouble-making brother, Bobby, a football player with a multi-million dollar contract for the 49ers. The only catch is that, in order to stay on the team, Bobby's bad-boy ways must be kept in check by a responsible party -- Porter. Keeping an eye on Bobby is Dena Draeger, his sports agent.
