Brothers & Sisters

Brothers & Sisters 36 Hours

Season 2,  Episode 8 | Original Airdate: November 11, 2007

Holly convinces Rebecca that she has to tell the other Walkers about Justin using again, for Justin"s sake. Cut to the gathered family (plus Holly, minus Tommy, who has taken up residence between Lena"s legs) staging an intervention at the Walker Manse that features Justin nastily running down everything that"s wrong with his family members until Kitty finally manages to get through to him. Of course, it"s Justin, so he"s still able to use his super-special powers as the baby of the family to get Nora convinced that he can go through withdrawal at home rather than in a rehab facility, above the objections of almost everyone else. But stay at home he does, which means the gathered Walkers (plus Tommy now, but minus Rebecca, who Justin ran off) have to sit on him until he stops trying to make a break for it. By the end, Nora is finally able to stand up to him, and Justin"s looking like he"ll pull through.

Elsewhere, Holly tells Saul that Tommy can be found at Lena"s, which leads to an incredibly uncomfortable series of interactions back at home, where Saul is pissed at Tommy for acting a fool, Kevin is pissed at Saul for suspecting the worst about Tommy, Tommy is pissed at Kevin for asking him about Lena when he"s got Scotty on the air mattress back at home, and Kevin is pissed at Tommy for even bringing that up. Saul ends up storming out, after another Gay Or Not Gay argument with Kevin, telling Nora that he can"t keep pretending that her family is his family. Kevin ends up admitting that Jason never returns his calls (bad reverend!) and that he likes having Scotty around because he"s lonely. Tommy ends up breaking up with Lena, again, and the countdown to her going all Fatal Attraction on him and Julia starts now. And finally, Saul returns the next morning and tells Nora that he had been in love with a man for many years. Nora wishes he"d told her years ago, and when she presses him for details, he just gets evasive and leaves.

Also, there"s some boring political stuff having to do with Robert and his daughter and Travis and Abe Froman, the Sausage King of Chicago, all of which ends in Robert firing a quarter of his staff for...some affront to his idealism. And then Kitty tells him that she wants to get married right away after all, so they can get started on having children. Robert lies to her that that"s what he wants too, which means we"ve got a doomed wedding to deal with in two weeks. Awesome.
