So Kitty and Robert do end up getting married, after a dumb fakeout that lasts about three seconds, and despite the fact that Robert still doesn"t want kids and doesn"t even seem conflicted about keeping that from Kitty. Whatever. And if it seems that I"m even more sour on Robert than usual this week, it"s because he acts like a complete asshole to Kevin at the wedding, re: the breakup with Jason.
The momentary three-second fakeout has to do with that pilot Kitty blackmailed last season, who was attempting to Swiftboat Robert. He"s going to the press anyway, and Isaac has caught wind of it, which gives Kitty enough advance notice to confess the whole thing to Robert. It"s built up like this is going to be the reason the wedding gets called off, but it"s so much of a non-issue that it gets dispatched off-camera. It"s still supposedly a potential catastrophe for the campaign, but that"s probably a fakeout too.
Elsewhere, Justin brings Lena to the wedding, which causes Tommy to act like an asshole 24/7, despite Kevin and Saul begging him to stay cool. Rebecca figures out from talking to Lena that Tommy was her married man, and she tells Justin, who confronts Tommy. Their ensuing scuffle has to be broken up by the Secret Service, who toss them into a secret wedding detention camp, along with Kevin (who told Rebecca he wanted to murder Robert, thus threatening the life of a presidential candidate), and Stan Harris (who smoked a bowl and wrote some anti-establishment comments in the guest book).
So: Nora and Stan break up, Nora and Isaac get closer, Kevin and Scotty argue over whether Kevin"s really over Jason, Holly and Saul have a talk where she unwittingly tells him to be the best damn homosexual he can be, and Ida gets stranded at an airport in Denver, to the relief of her family but the consternation of many a viewer.
