Better than expected. But ...

I saw the latest clips and actually laughed a bit. Yeah, they're banking on old formula jokes, but when was the last time we saw a gimmick series since 'Alf'. It's new ... it shows ABC has the dough to throw around and if it works, we all win. Needless to say, Geico is getting broke off lovely from all this relatively free press.
Suggestions:
Don't kill us with the 'I'm a caveman love me' shtick for too long. Have more episodes where it's not even brought up ...which was the wonder of the Geico commercials. Nobody likes to be beat in the head with another races 'let my people go' story for too long. I'm black and I get tired of hearing it everyday myself.
Have less filming like an outdoor sitcom and film it like we were watching an HBO or Showtime program (i.e., more handheld shots ... closeups....put the audience in there with the caveman.) Don't set us up for constant two-or group shots. I don;t want to feel like I'm being set up for a gag. I want to be up close and personal like a grungy MTV series. That will make it funny. because, once again, the commercials were funny because it was 'life' ... not staged.

Looked okay, but............

Okay so I watched the clips and it was funny but I wish they used the same guys and makeup that are in the GEICO commercials. I love those guys. Good luck to the show anyway.

Could be worse...

It's true, this show will not win any awards, the jokes are borderline funny, but it could be worse, it could be another reality show resurrecting some one hit wonder or washed up child actor we thought we had gotten rid of. It's nice to see a show with a real plot and writers nevermind how simple the execution. Don't forget, there are reasons why Flavor Flav, Howie Mandel, Cory Haim, and the like have been unemployed for so long. Just my opinion.

Talk about beating a dead horse

The GEICO commercials were successful (and funny) because it was new and fresh. This is simply recycling what worked as a novelty and beating it into the ground. Sitcoms are supposed to mean situation comedies. There are no situations in today's world involving cavemen. Just like "where's the beef" and "time to make the doughnuts", the caveman schtick is tired.
And to think............. George Lopez was cancelled for this?

My father is an actor who is currently on set shooting this show and he said the cast and crew don't even think it's going to make it.
