Caught my attention..
October 3, 2007
Being one that doesn't watch TV often, this series did catch my attention due to the premise of geek meets beauty. (Although, it might have also been all the massive media blitz of commercials, but we'll move on.)
First, this series is definitely carried by the central character Chuck, who is played by Zachary Levi. His situation/role sort of reminds me of Topher Grace from "That 70s show." A very likable character with qualities that all, especially the geeks, can relate to.
Secondly, the plot is so straightforward and easily laid out that anyone can be brought up to speed relatively quickly. Geeky guy gets smart. Beautiful CIA agent protects him. Done. Some people might find this as a drawback, but for someone like me who misses episodes every now and then, that's a plus.
Thirdly, the support characters do a great job by not feeling out of place and forcing their lines. Yes, I do agree that there have been wanton scenes of a scantily clad Sarah, played by Yvonne Strahovski, but who am I to complain? I'm a guy.
In summary, it's a simple series with interesting characters. The writers do a great job with that. I personally found it hilarious with all the similiraties and references of the fictional Buy More store, where Chuck works, to the real-life Best Buy. I also liked how they worked in a Tron poster and video games in Chuck's room and the selling of Astrodiapers in a store. Very cerebral. Definitely, the ladies will love Chuck and the men will like Sarah.

Another Monday night show I look forward to..
November 5, 2007
Chuck is a funny show with excitement. Although the subject is kind of out there, it's got twists and turns and has "heart" - and keeps me interested week after week. The Halloween episode was particulary good; I'll bet we all wish we could have a friend like Chuck who puts up with our annoyances and still hangs in there. I thought the downloaded computer idea is very clever writing. I hope it continues.

PLEASE NBC - KEEP THIS!!!
November 22, 2007
In a time of absolute CRAP on TV (see ANY reality show), what we have here is a breath of fresh air. Those who say this show is a Get Smart crossed with whatever show wasn't around when Get Smart originally aired, doesn't understand Get Smart for what IT really was and probably only knows Mel Brooks from The Producers on Broadway (and doesn't know who Buck Henry is at all). Chuck is nothing like Get Smart. Chuck is also not pretending to be 24 nor is it pretending to be Moonlighting or Scarecrow and Mrs. King (an even LESS believeable show) . It is simply a piece of escapism that asks you to suspend belief in realism and just go along for a 60 minute ride with 3 archtypes and thier improbable adventures. No good guy gets hurt, no bad guys get graphically "whacked", no one is responsible for property damage and NOBODY with a paying job actually works at it. It's FUN. That's all. The characters are likeable and the actors do a nice job fleshing them out. Fortunately it handles the sexual tension lightly and even has a nice family touch with Chucks relationship with his sister. There is a lot to like here. Does it break new ground? No. Does it re-write the rules of comedy? No. Does it reflect real life situations? No. Does it entertain? YES. Yes it does ... and it does it without heavy handed social commentary, it does it without graphic sex and it does it without making you wince and herd the kids out of the room. It does exactly what it is meant to do. Entertain. So viewers let go, sit back and enjoy a program that is clever and campy without being cloying. With the current state of TV programming, you can do A LOT worse than Chuck.

This is an excellent show with characters that you get to know and enjoy on a weekly basis. My wife and I love "Chuck" and have not missed an episode yet!

Good mixture of elements
September 23, 2007
Very interesting and different mixture of elements. You have funny nerdy guys, with one hot girl, and some action thrown in. Beauty and the Geeks meets Jason Bourne. Can't wait to watch the next episode, setting my DISH DVR right now.
