The View

Star Slams Babs For Spilling Secrets

For Star Jones, Barbara Walters' tell-all revelations about Jones' rapid weight loss felt like a knife to the gut.

The erstwhile View cohost has hit back at her former mentor after Walters blabbed in her recently published memoir Audition, that the View crew was, at Jones behest, forced to lie about her having gastric bypass surgery.

"It is a sad day when an icon like Barbara Walters, in the sunset of her life, is reduced to publicly branding herself as an adulterer, humiliating an innocent family with accounts of her illicit affair and speaking negatively against me all for the sake of selling a book," Jones tells Us Weekly. "It speaks to her true character.” >>Read the rest of the story

Lindsay Lohan Rebounds With 'Ugly Betty' Guest Role

Actress Lindsay Lohan, working to rebuild her acting career after a year of personal turmoil, will appear as a guest star on the ABC television comedy "Ugly Betty," the network said on Monday.

Lohan, who has not starred in a feature film since last year's flop "I Know Who Killed Me," will join the popular sitcom's cast for six episodes, playing a mean former classmate of title character Betty, who suddenly resurfaces in her life.

The 21-year-old actress, who won critical praise and international stardom before lurid stories in the tabloid press began to overshadow her career, will make her first appearance on "Ugly Betty" on the May 22 season finale. >>Read the rest of the story

American Idol

No Tank Jobs for Jason Castro

Jason Castro not only didn't try to lose American Idol, the laid-back dude in dreads actually wanted to win the thing.

"Yesterday I wanted to win, and the day before [that]," Castro told reporters this morning.

The 21-year-old Texan's heretofore unexpressed ambition was thwarted by his elimination Wednesday night, his fate apparently sealed by a critically panned performance of "I Shot the Sheriff" and a lyrically challenged version of "Mr. Tambourine Man" on Tuesday.

Castro shot down theories that (1) he intentionally flubbed the words on "Tambourine Man," as alleged by judge Simon Cowell, and (2) he mouthed the plea "Don't vote" to the dialing public after one of his performances on Tuesday's show. >>Read the rest of the story

The Colbert Report

Stephen Colbert Takes Home Top Internet Award

Stephen Colbert, whose U.S. presidential campaign was cut short, came out a winner on Tuesday when he walked away with a Webby award as the Internet's "Person of the Year."

Other special achievement winners in the 12th annual Webby awards, known as the "Oscars of the Internet," included Black Eyed Peas' frontman and songwriters will.i.am, recognized as "Artist of the Year," and French filmmaker Michel Gondry, who took home honors as "Video Person of the Year."

The Webby awards, which honor excellence on the Internet, are presented by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences, a 550-person judging academy. Winners will be honored at ceremonies on June 9th and 10th in New York, and, as always, will be limited to just a five-word acceptance speech. >>Read the rest of the story
