'Gossip Girl': Hilary Duff Is Stealing Somebody's Man!

The CW confirms to E! News that Hilary Duff will be joining "Gossip Girl" for a multi-episode guest arc. Duff is set to play a girl named Olivia, Vanessa's (Jessica Szohr) new roommate at NYU, but that connection to V is not all that Olivia brings to the show.

Neil Patrick Harris Eyed as Awesome Emmys Host

CBS, the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences and Neil Patrick Harris are working on a deal that would make the "How I Met Your Mother" star the host of this year's Primetime Emmy Awards, airing Sept. 20.

An agreement had not been reached as of late Wednesday -- and CBS had no comment on the buzz -- but Variety reports that all parties are hopeful to see Harris "tux up" and take charge of the 61st annual Emmys. >>Read the rest of the story

Contract Hit: Drea de Matteo Joins 'Desperate Housewives'

"Sopranos" alumna Drea de Matteo is joining "Desperate Housewives" this season, and she's bringing a small mob of her own with her -- in the form of a husband and a son.

De Matteo has been cast in a series regular role, an ABC rep confirms, ostensibly offsetting the loss of Nicollette Sheridan's Edie, who perished toward the end of Season 5. 'SVU' News: Mariska and Meloni Are In for Season 11, and So Is Christine Lahti

After tense contract negotiations, Christopher Meloni will return for "Law & Order: SVU's" 11th season. But in a surprise signing, TV vet Christine Lahti ("Chicago Hope," "Jack and Bobby") will join them, playing the new assistant district attorney.
