They didn't give it a chance.....
November 13, 2008
Just when the show was starting to get good, they cancelled it! This show had a lot of potential and could have easlily gone 4 or 5 seasons going by the quality of writing and directing. I just heard today it's back on some channels, probably pay or specialty channels.

I was shocked to find out this show was cancelled!
June 29, 2008
I am from the Philippines and am an avid follower of Commander in Chief. For a year now, i have been asking our DVD stores for Season 2 and only found out this year that it had been cancelled already. To tell you the truth, i was completely aghast! Geena Davis wasn't one of my favorite actresses, but what she did with this show, she made me realize she is one hell of an actress and made me really like her a lot! I started coming home early every time the show was on and found myself wishing it didn't have to end so soon. This show gives us women, the hope or makes us want to dream that this world can actually be better if run by women presidents. Specially in places that look down on women. But of course, we know that this is fiction. And it would probably take another 12 years or longer, before a woman can become president in the US. But there is no harm in dreaming, is there? I think the one who ordered it cancelled probably hates strong women, like the character portrayed by Ms. Davis. I just wish that person could come to his senses and bring back Commander in Chief soon. This is one show that starts slow, but once it gets going, it gets going! My gosh, the story lines. the plots, the situations are all so believable, so real! It is drama at its best! And the cast is just so good, i can't believe this show was cancelled. I just can't! Please bring it back!!!! Please!!!!!!

This show should NOT have been cancelled!! Geena Davis was so perfect for this character! I think ABC cut it way to soon (they seem to be making that a habit lately). If NBC can keep something like "the ghost whisperer" on for so long, how come ABC can't have a little faith??
I would bet a whole lot on the fact that the ratings would have swarmed upwards in the next few seasons. But ABC apparently would rather keep a whole bunch of reality shows and horny doctors on.
I honestly think the reason they cancelled it was because it actually made people use their minds. If you didn't want to use it, then everyone just switched to Reality Shows. I think that's an awful thing to start doing, what does that mean is next?
Just because people were lazy the first season and not wanting to use their brains to follow an excellently scripted show, does not mean the whole USA wants to lose even more brain cells!
I know people probably won't be reading this, but I had to get my feelings out, this was an incredible show, and it deserved a chance!
It makes me not even want to watch ABC shows until they've been on for at least a few seasons, that way we don't risk getting caught up with the characters and plots and have it taken away just like that!
(plus if ABC had promoted it a bit more and given it a decent time slot, i bet it would have helped as well)
thats all, sorry for ranting!!!

I really love this tv-series. It's very interesting to follow this drama until finished. you'll never get boring with it.
There's a drama in it , comedy and also romance
Anyway, Congratulations to Geena Davis. She presented an outstanding acting here. Very different from her other performances.
Excellent tv-series to watch.

why was it cancelled

This show was wonderful and I think it was forced off the air by the skittish republicans. We wouldn't want out daughters to see women in power now would we boys?
