Chris efforts to study for a college-entrance exam get sidelined by Rochelle s plans for the family to attend a social event; Julius wins a contest for a new TV, but he soon discovers a hidden catch.

Chris starts telling dirty jokes at school after he listens to his parents Redd Foxx album. Meanwhile, Rochelle tries to set up a blind date for her mom; and Drew is pestered by a girl who keeps telling friends that he kissed her.

Chris calls in a bomb threat to school to delay a presentation he must give in history class. Meanwhile, a disgruntled customer puts a voodoo hex on Rochelle.

Chris and his family plan a trip to South Carolina to attend a relative s funeral, but the journey is threatened when Chris gambles away part of the money for the trip while waiting for the bus at the Port Authority.
