In the series opener, Crusoe heads for the new world in hopes of getting out his impending debt. Crusoe wakes up on an island, after he is almost killed by an assassin. Finally, Crusoe saves a native man from cannibals and makes a best friend.
Crusoe and his friend Friday struggle to survive. They must overcome militias, hungry cannibals, pirates and most of all, starvation. Crusoe is constantly reminded of his wife and children, both of whom were left behind in England.
Crusoe loses his wedding ring while trying to repair the water source to the tree house. Friday has a dream about a woman needing to be returned to the sea, and is convinced Crusoe can help him unlock the mystery. Friday and Crusoe then find a puzzle box and set off on an adventure to put a woman's spirit to rest.
When a ship arrives on Crusoe's island with mutineers looking for supplies, Crusoe and Friday must outwit the groups leader, by scaring them off the island.
Crusoe and Friday stumble upon an old boat stuck in a tree. By using a pulley system, Crusoe and Friday are able to remove the boat from the tree and set out to repair it. Inside the boat they find a compass and Crusoe believes it can help him find his way back to England.
Crusoe and Friday notice cannibals on the island with two captives. Crusoe contemplates stealing the cannibal's boat, but feels strange about leaving the captives. Crusoe and Friday are shocked when they find out who the captives are.
Crusoe is awakened by Friday trying to attack him inside the tree house. When Crusoe realizes that Friday is ill and has gone crazy, he searches for Olivia to see about a cure. Crusoe and Olivia search for the rare plant that can cure Friday.
Olivia tells Crusoe that the mutineer’s ship has been fixed and they plan to set sail soon. Crusoe and Friday plan to free the captain and head back to England. But when a traitor among the captain's trusted crew presents himself, Crusoe must improvise.
Friday is reminded of some of the trials he faced as a child, and decides to design a defensive contraption to protect the tree house. Crusoe decides to reenact some of the tribal challenges Friday faced as a child. Crusoe realizes Friday is still feeling like a disappointment because he couldn't complete the last tribal challenge as a child.
Crusoe is reunited with Susannah when she appears on the island, however, he is unable to shake the strange feelings he is having. While looking for Friday, Crusoe and Susannah find someone else living on the island.
Crusoe is looking for duck eggs when a warrior surprises him and takes a lock of his hair. After consulting with Friday, Crusoe realizes he is the target of a manhunt. Friday devises a plan to fight the three warriors, but is defeated and must decide if he should save himself or Crusoe.
Friday and Crusoe are on the hunt for food, when a rocket explodes above them in the air. Crusoe and Friday look to see if a ship has arrived on the island, but are disappointed when they see a ship leaving shore. Crusoe sees men struggling to swim to shore, so he rushes to save one. Crusoe is surprised to find Mr. Blackthorn, whose intentions he still struggles to trust.
Crusoe and Friday defend themselves against a ship full of men. Later, Blackthorn and some of his men search for some of Crusoe's personal belongings in the tree house. Samuel Tuffley finds himself in a rough situation when Crusoe pressures him for information and finally, Crusoe figures out Blackthorn's motives.
