Max tells the merpeople that she'll "meet [them] there." Max and Alec take off the same way that they entered, via the roof. The merman and mermaid go through the drainpipe.
Later, at the shoreline, Asha takes a look at Alec's shoulder. Max thanks Alec for helping out, and Alec nods in response. Max asks if Alec wants to say goodbye to the merpeople. Alec says that he needs to get his wound cleaned, and Asha leads him off. Max walks over to watch the merpeople, who are looking at their eggs in the tire. I'm not sure why the merpeople have bathing suits on, but whatever. Logan watches as the merpeople wave goodbye to Max and take off. Logan comments that Max got the ending that she wanted. Max says that the merpeople are together, "and that's the way it should be." Logan agrees that it's the way it should be. They smile at each other.
Next week: Max unearths a two-thousand-year-old secret involving bones and the Manticore symbol. She fights off a bunch of bad guys who don't have bar codes. She smacks White with a huge beam, and it barely affects him.
