    Carter battles a chemical addiction, trash clutters the halls of the ER as the custodial staff strikes and victims of a football game riot flock to the ER. A riot between playres breaks out in the ER. Benton chokes back his dislike when a good position opens under Romano.

    Abby empathizes with the parents of a very prematurely born child. Greene and Corday try to work out their relationship differences. Benton and Romano argue over a homeless man's extensive treatment needs. Weaver and Kovac look after a comatose woman whose same sex love has no legal grounds of decisionmaking. Malucci hides from a woman looking for him. Carter contemplates his future.
