Chris is happy when another black kid enrolls in his school, but Greg worries Chris will forget about him. Elsewhere, Rochelle gets an unexpected tax refund and goes on a shopping spree.

Chris is asked out on a date by the nerdiest girl in school, whom everyone calls Big Bird, and he accepts her invitation to prevent her feelings from being hurt.

Chris prepares for his first date with a girl from the neighborhood. Also, a nosy new neighbor (Whoopi Goldberg) moves in and pressures Rochelle to organize a neighborhood watch patrol.

Chris tries to write a campaign speech to win votes for class president; Rochelle rents out the upstairs apartment to a funeral director with a long list of lady friends; Drew finds money that Rochelle lost and spends it.

Malvo demands that Chris steal a gold chain for him and threatens a beating if Chris doesn t comply. Meanwhile, Rochelle is furious when she learns Julius has a credit card he never told her about; Tonya tries to win concert tickets to see Billy Ocean.

Julius tries to improve his marriage by watching Oprah Winfrey on TV, but Rochelle misreads his new attitude and assumes he is having an affair; Chris volunteers for a Big Brother program and is assigned a surprising little brother.

Rumors swirl that Chris and Tasha are a hot couple after she publicly kisses him on the cheek for removing a mouse from her grandmother s apartment, and Chris does nothing to stop them. Also, Julius wants to get something fun with his trading stamps.

Chris gets robbed by a local thug after Doc lets him work the cash register at the corner store, and he fears the thief will kill him if he snitches. At home, Julius gets angry when Tonya tapes over his soap opera and he refuses to apologize to her.

The school s new principal (Jason Alexander) teams Chris with Caruso on a field trip in the hope that the two will bond. Back at home, Tonya loses one of Rochelle s hoop earrings after her mom tells her she can t wear them.

Students want to impeach Chris as class president after he fails to deliver on his campaign promises. Back at home, Rochelle s ne er-do-well brother visits after their mother kicks him out of her house, and asks if he can stay.

Things start going Chris s way at home and at school after he wears his dad s lucky socks; Drew prepares to sing in a school talent show, even though he can t carry a tune.

Chris must care for an egg like it s a baby for a week as part of a social-studies project on parenting; Tonya believes Drew is a werewolf; Julius tries to find ways to lower the electric bill.

Chris is excited when he gets a black substitute teacher (Orlando Jones), but his enthusiasm quickly turns to dread when the man pressures Chris to bring his grade up to an A.

Chris is asked to be a deejay at a party, so he buys expensive equipment and renames himself DJ Chrissy Chris; Drew tries to get Julius to take him to a magic show, but Julius fear of rabbits gets in the way.

Chris becomes a hall monitor at school to get some respect, but no one takes him seriously. At home, Julius grows weary of hearing Rochelle complain about her new job.

Snow blankets the city, and when Chris arrives at school he discovers that he and principal Edwards (Jason Alexander) are the only ones there. Meanwhile, Rochelle gets stuck on a subway with a robber; and Mr. Omar looks after Tonya and Drew.

Julius tries to impress his so-called smarter brother (Wayne Brady) by cooking a perfect Thanksgiving dinner but, of course, things don t go quite as planned.
