Fenton has worked multiple times with directors Richard Attenborough ("Gandhi" 1982, "Cry Freedom" 1987), Stephen Fears ("Loving Walter" 1983, "Dangerous Liaisons" 1988), Neil Jordan ("The Company of Wolves" 1986 and "High Spirits" 1988) and Charles Sturridge ("Runners" 1983, "A Handful of Dust" 1988).
