Just in case some of you have'nt heard our favorite show is CANCELED! It was one of the one shows I tuned in for every Monday. Actually from the beginning. Its sad to see them go, I loved all the characters. I didn't like when Toni left and they added Monica but I got over it and continued to watch. I just hate to see a Fav go and without a proper goodbye or anything. I truly think we should do like the Jericho fans and boycott and send letters and emails or something. Whose with me? One More Season! One More Season! I mean if they can get another season of a new show why can't we get a final farewell season for a truly amazing, real, show like GIRLFRIENDS? I mean after 8.. 9 seasons (can't remember), haven't they earned it!? They're in syndication for Goodness sakes! One More Season! One More Season!

I love this show! I've followed it since episode one thru all the changes. Some seasons have been better than others. Some storylines have worked well while others flopped.
Jill Marie Jones (Toni Childs) is unfortunatly no longer on the show. She was my favorite in every way! The reason she is not there is because of money and storyline issues. The money thing is simply that the entire cast took a big pay cut to go from UPN to the new CW. JMJ was not happy with that. Also her character was to take a more bitter harsher turn for most of this season, JMJ was not down with that either. So she left the show. Show creator Mara Brock Akil (also runs "The Game") had to scramble to rework the season storyline to compensate.
Monica Charles Brooks(Keisha Sharpe) was brought on full time to replace JMJ and to add tension much is the same way as Mya's role was in being the outside in the shows beginnings. I miss Toni but Monica works for me.
The show will probably just go on for one more year and then be over. It will give them a chance to conclude storylines and neatly wrap it up. Much like "The Cosby Show" and "Fresh Prince" did.

Jill marie Jones (Toni Childs) left the show because the other 3 "girlfriends" dissed her BIG TIME!!! Before the newe season began all 4 were going to hold out in resigning their contracts for a bigger pay raise. When it came down to it Tracee Ellis Ross (Joan), Golden Brooks (Mya) and Persia White (Lynn) decided against it and Jill didn't! She felt like they left her out there like the sacrificial lamb after all the talk about doing it so she felt betrayed and once they STILL weren't going to give her the raise she felt she deserved she left.

Toni CHilds moved to NY to be closer to her daughter Morgan. Thats how they wrote her out!

I like most viewers really miss the whole Toni and Joan dynamic. I agree that Monica characters resembles Toni and they will eventually replace the Toni altogether. I relate to the show and it often parallels my own life at times. Keep up the good work with the smart writing and I love it love it love it...
