Set in 1755 in New York's Hudson Valley, during the French and Indian Wars, this adventure series chronicles the exploits of woodsman and pathfinder Nathaniel Bumppo and his Delaware Indian companion, Chingachgook. The pair often assist the English soldiers stationed in Fort Bennington, where Elizabeth Shields runs a trading post, assisted by teenagers McKinney and Peevey.
