History Detectives WPA Mural Studies/George Washington Miniature/Japanese War Balloon (repeat)
Season 7, Episode 14Episode Description
“WPA Mural Studies” Elyse Luray investigates the case of a Molalla, Oregon woman who inherited paintings from her aunt (Thelma Johnson Streat) that might have been studies for larger New Deal-commissioned murals. “George Washington Miniature” Wes Cowan examines a miniature color painting that could depict George Washington and might have belonged to little-known abolitionist and patriot White Matlack. "Japanese Balloon Bomb" Tukufu Zuberi takes a look at what is believed to be a scrap of a Japanese Balloon Bomb, the only weapon that caused casualties on the US Mainland in WWII.
