• 2006

  Launched a film festival as part of his 'commitment to democratize entertainment,' where the top three films in the Howard Stern Film Festival competition will receive cash prizes and air on Howard TV On Demand

• 2005

  Signed a three-year exclusive deal with In Demand Network, to begin airing a video version of Howard Stern's radio show

• 2004

  In February, Stern was dropped from six Clear Channel Communication stations; action against Stern came one day after the radio giant announced a ''zero-tolerance'' policy toward indecency; the new policy came about in the wake of the Janet Jackson-Justin Timberlake Super Bowl debacle, which prompted the current crackdown on indecency by both the Federal Communications Commission and by self-policing radio and TV broadcasters

• 2004

  Stern signs a five-year contract worth $500 million, with satellite network Sirius for a show that will free him from FCC content rules and free the shock jock to speak uncensored for a subscription-only audience

• 2003

  Filed suit against the producer of ''Are You Hot?'' and ABC, alleging that the reality series ripped off ideas from his radio show
